I think Whit and Quinn will use a 3 DT line and then have Luvu and Davis standing up on the ends. That seems to be a good situation for us.

We'll definitely see some of that!

I think Forbes was not a good match for Del Rio's bend but don't break style of defense. I think you will see improvement in a more aggressive defense where he can jump forced passes and play with more confidence. You spoke on it while I was typing but I think he will show improvement just off scheme and play style. Maybe we will see the guy Fred Smoot had to have.

Thanks for the Forbes analysis, David. I'm certainly rooting for him to turn it around. How do you feel about our DE situation? I have some legitimate concerns about DE outside of Armstrong. And I think in today's NFL, you need two impact DEs to be successful. But most of our trade or FA rumors have centered on OL or WR. But considering we were interested in Bryce Huff before he signed with Philly to pair Brandon Graham, could you see WAS attempting to sign a FA or trade (maybe in season) for an impact DE before the trade deadline?

I think having a project in Jamin Davis at edge instantly takes away or eases the “ edge problem we have “

Ron sold us on the fact Forbes, despite his size, was a playmaker who had a high football IQ and great instincts. That is really the only way a 170 pound corner is going to stick around in the NFL. While I think the new staff is going to give him a chance on the outside, the question is whether Forbes really is that instinctual and has the work ethic to develop into a technician at the position. Christian Gonzalez to me (and a lot of NFL observers) is going to be a pro bowl corner and is a pick that should have been made by Washington at #16. Like him or not, to me when you have a player with size or speed issues but productivity in college you usually see these guys being taken in Rounds 2 and 3, not in the top 20 in the Round 1.

despite the overdraft label, I believe removing Forbes from the physicality of bein a slot corner and let him follow teams’ off ball wideout he’ll benefit in off man & match zone principals . Instinctively he hasn’t lost his ability but his confidence is SHOT,

Sites are saying Forbes at 180 now vs 160s at combine. Bro still looks like he needs a cheeseburger or 100. Scheme is a lot, but we have a lot of question marks. CB, LT, LG, WR(except Terry). We got the cap space. Does DQ believe in those we have THAT much, feel those available are not better, or there will be better options cut during ca,mp? It just seems after doing so much to turn us around, that they are not stressing the holes left. Any insight?
@LockedOnCommanders3 ай бұрын
I don’t necessarily they think there are holes everywhere we on the outside think there are, and at the same time a lot is proven or disproven when the pads come on, so that’s a big part. Right now if guys are showing an understanding and willingness then that’s enough to get them to the next phase. Things can always change.

Another poor decision by Ron with overdrafting players. I won't blame him for Young, everyone thought he was a generational talent. Which he clearly has not been that so far. Even his rookie season. He made some plays but 7.5 sacks isn't a ton. Sure, the injury affected him but he was below average. As for Forbes, he just is too light.

Forbes can play he just can’t play under a poor defensive coordinator as Del Rio, Forbes fits perfectly within this scheme and how they intend to apply pressure

@@brandoncrittenden3939 folks are obsessed with his size like the league ain’t filled with below average bigger corners lol. Not many have ever stopped A.J. Brown which is why he’s elite but Forbes competed against him made some plays too. Forbes is a ball hawk CB not a shutdown corner.
