Washington DC celebrates 4th of July with fireworks on the National Mall

The July 4 celebration 2024 at the Washington Monument look changed from memories of times past. We all brought picnic baskets and had a picnic on the grounds of George Washington's Monument after climbing 478 stairs to the top! George Zambelli from Pennsylvania did the fireworks program annually for decades. It is still a memorable night 🌃

O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! Most people dont know the significance of this verse, the brittish bombed the fort into oblivion yet in the morning the flag still stood. This is because they hit the flag and a man ran and stood it back up holding the pole upright and when he was hit and killed another person took his place all types men wemon and children had propped up that flag , you understand that wemon and children took a turn holding it up, that flag the left hates so much represents freedom paid for by we the poeple. The national anthem tells the story of that night and how brave the people were knowingly giving up their lives so it would still stand... god bless America and god bless us all

It's not a mystery their water comes from the blue plains water plant and has very very old pipes like from when DC was built.
