As of August 5, 2023, there has been 154 homicides in Washington DC, and the homicide rate is up almost 20% meanwhile in Atlanta Georgia. The homicide rate has decreased by more than 20%. And the homicide number is around 70. So Atlanta is doing pretty good. this year. DC not so much. 🤦🏽‍♂️🙏🏾

Commuter bus I ride to DC to work from further south in MD goes through some parts of SE you go through here. Mainly GH Rd. With the state of the city/SE specifically I worry about catching a stray every morning. At the same time I try to remember these folks are just trying to get by with the hand they've been dealt in life. Stay safe.
