Bro the tractionmoters are so iconic for the older sets when they are leaving they always sound like a continuous high pitch noise then a short really high pitch noise then back to the continuous high pitch

The metro is super nostalgic for me. We'd go to DC once a year when I was a kid (in the 90s) for the 4th of July. I loved riding the metro so much. When I was in college I was in a long distance relationship and would take the Blue Line to see my boyfriend almost every weekend.

Very rarely they will mix the 2k and 3k with the 6k. Edit: the 2k has now been retired from service permanently.

I'll never ride DC metrorail again. The service sucks, security is insufficient, attendants are rude and the trains are disgusting. Crackheads even do and deal illegal drugs in the trains and on the platforms.

DontUputThatEvilOnMe Their 7000 series trains are the new ones. They were in service since 2015. They now plan on finding a manufacture for 8000 series cars.

Metro has retired their 1000 Series(1976), their 4000 series(1991) & their 5000 Series(2001) Metro has kept the 2000 & 3000 from 1984 because they have got an rehab in 2006 their second newest series is the 6000 Series which went in service in 2006, & then theirs the 7000 Series soo, you pretty much wrong
