We were at the Ape Cave in the early 80's and found a trail of burned clothing, apparently used as torches after their lights failed. There are a number of other "wild" tubes in the area for the adventurous spelunker.

@lkimberly20642 жыл бұрын
I love hiking, I hope you stopped a few times in the tube.. That looked rough. I don't mean in that you were uneasy [I would be too], but just the terrain you went through- even a few miles (easy if level) over rough terrain feels like 2-3 times the distance. I once went on a hunting trail, 75% of it was rough and very much up and down through trees. It was several miles long, one way in and one way out. Even just the way in required a rest at least 30-45 minutes long before heading back. Glad you are in fit physical shape, and calm in outlook. It showed in your narration, while describing things you were calm and inviting. Even when you discussed your misgvings, while short and to the point it showed how calm you were. >Might I suggest you find a manual/crank light source of some kind you can carry with you if you ever get stuck as you discussed? It may help you even in van life- instead of turning on all your lights it can provide a limited brightness and power source that will be ready (I found a basically crank [via temporary lever pushing, doesn't sound/feel the greatest but it works] light that can be used if need be as one example) as well as a back up if you are on foot..

I’m a couple decades behind on motorcycle technology, but have been wondering about the function of that shifter with it’s separate pivot point / external / adjustable linkage to where shifting actually takes place, and if it still has the traditional 1 down / 4-5 up shift pattern for full range? Old school was just a shift lever on the end of the shaft that changed gears, simple & trouble free.
