I love this. I’ve been out of school for 40 years. I am more interested in history than I was then. Thank you Mt Vernon!

Enjoyed Dr. Bradburn very much. So knowledgeable! I’m sorry they couldn’t turn off the birds in the background of the surveying sight. Must have been very distracting for him as well. But, he pushed through 😬😃

Take time... make the road trip.. bring your children.. bring friends.. SEE Mt. Vernon. Like walking back through a time portal... Perfectly preserved and tastefully recounted, the history of this fascinating man and pivotal time in our nations's history is not to be missed. Part sinner part saint.. the story of this very complex and real man of his time is discussed openly and honestly. Lots to see - so plan for a couple of days, as you really can't absorb it all in one afternoon.

It’s amazing how far we have come as a nation. More work is yet to be done! Lots of positive changes are in the works. 2021 is looking good, specially after the last 4 years. We need to heal the old wounds so we can move forward. Our country’s original sin is haunting us all. Just maybe, the promise of “liberty and justice for all” will truly materialize this time? Its sad that so many people needed to suffer for it. We’re all one race, all one people, enough with the old ways of thinking. 🇺🇸🌹

Fairfax's were very influential to Washington's family and in Colonial America generally, hence the County named after them. I spoke with a descendant of the Fairfax family on email a few years back, his brother is the 14th Lord Fairfax and sits in our House of Lords here in England.

He had a Family that was Rich in History. Sulgraves Manor & Washington Hall are HISTORIC LANDMARKS in England. He was descended from Knights & never knew his English History. Just that they came from North England.

Could there be any truth to the claims of some people that Washington may have been effeminate? Some of the evidence they cite are his very strong interest in clothing styles and interior decoration, as well as his domineering Mother and lack of a Father.

Ona Judge, a slave of the Washington’s, said George never spoke of a god, read the Bible or prayed.
@NeTxGrl

Throughout the war George Washington, as it was understood in his military family, he gave part of every day to private prayer and devotion. General Henry Knox and the man who GW was quartered with at Valley Forge, Isaac Potts, tell of GW retiring to a quiet grove where he could be alone to seek the help of God. GW prayed from the time of his youth and he apparently continued that practice throughout his life. You are incredibly ignorant.

Get off your high horse and quit using today's moral standards and applying them to people in the past. Tell you what hun. Take a look around your house and throw out everything you've bought that came from China, which is probably going to be an awful lot. And don't buy any more products that come from China. If you don't then YOU are QUILTY of helping to support modern day slavery in China and history will judge YOU!!!!! So whip out that trash bag and get going... I also suggest you throw away any products that came from an animal because that means you are cruel to animals. So become an organic vegetarian, because you know insecticides cause all kinds of genetic/metabolic disease. Give up your cell phone and computer because as you know it was a product of the space race and a missue of government funds. Stop driving your car and polluting the planet. Also go back to europe since you're probably mad that the land was "stolen" from the indians and give all your money and worldly goods to the indigenous. ECT ECT ECT.........
