Washingtonia robusta 1 year and 10 months

Here is a short video of my Washingtonia robusta palm tree seedlings! It shows them from germination in November up to now september 2014 (one year ad ten months). From this you can see what outstanding growth this species can make even in the cool UK climate as long as they are given the right conditions. Unfortunately you will see as the video goes on that the population reduces from seven to two, hopefully i have been left with the strongest and hardiest of the bunch.

Got some seeds 1 year ago....did not know which palm it was....we think washingtonia filifera. This is what they are after 1 year.....

Washingtonia are hard to manage so well done. I have 7 date palms I germinated Aug 15, hoping they pull same growth rate as yours. so far I have a mini stem green trunk about 4cm with 3 fonds some over 30cm. looking forward to the spring and summer to thicken them up!

I just got one . I have two windmills palms that have grown pretty big in the matter of 5 years . I'm sure my Washingtonia Robusta will out grow them in a couple years . I'm thinking of getting a Queen palm next . Do you have any of those ?

I think i live in zone 11 or 9 and one grew randomly on the side of my concrete and has been there for 4 months and its the same size as yours
