bro same, I stopped mid way into the anime to learn and get decent at mahjong to continue watching I got good at Mahjong in literally a week just from grinding the hell out of a web base mahjong game. When I start watching again and understand the situation of their hand formation, it was so insanely thrilling and I was so proud of myself. Mahjong is like the best board game to me right now, not even lying, and it's not because of watching Akagi. This game is so slept on it's unreal.

The thing about washizu is that he may not be as skill in the mahjong as Akagi but he have enough money and extremely good luck to counter that.

I mean, yeah. It's alluded to in the anime many times that Washizu is favored by the Heavens, thus has monstrous luck. Skill-wise he still hold his own against Akagi and even cornered him on some occasions. If Akagi didn't instilled "fear" within him, he probably would have lost against his BS luck but obviously Akagi knew that far more than i do.

It contains the entire story from the manga - both are a total of 30 about 50 minute episodes + a movie ending. One of the best I've seen. Music, acting, mood, respect for Fukumoto's style 👌

Atama Hane/Head Bump is when someone else rons/wins on a discard tile you have and the yakuman sum is bigger than yours, thus they claim the win, not you. That’s how Yasuoka (?? all fkmt cops look the same to me) trumps Washizu’s hand.
