Great video!! Always enjoy the Packer Ride-alongs! Any reason the packer retracts the way it does in the beginning ? Cool dumpsters with blue lids, that’s cool to see. Nice visuals and action brotha!

If you mean why does the packer only go so far then retract a few times before going all the way. Its because its the bottom square part of the ram (about 2 feet deep) that does the crushing.. so you crush the load slightly then retract to let the loose stuff fill the gap each time you do it the level drops. Until all the load is crushed. If you were to just push a full hopper in one go the rubbish would erupt from the top over the sides and over the front of the blade ..

@@Mitch-Hendren great explanation. The front load garbage trucks that comes to my house (I have a 3yd dumpster) pack after each stop, but two of them specifically push the blade pretty deep into the body of the truck. Could either be an override or the type of truck. It’s a Labrie Optimizer and a Heil Durapack that notably do so. All the other trucks (Heil, Labrie, Mcneilus, New way, and Wittke) have packers that stop and retract automatically.

It's a defect that cant be figured out. If I stop the auto retract and restart it stops doing that.

Is this packing blade manual or automatic
@GarbageGus4 ай бұрын
Both. The auto pack and be stopped and run manually or vice versa. Depends how full the hopper is I either run it manually or full. Dont want stuff falling behind the blade
