This video never gets old WMmaster626, great variety of trucks. I'm glad you made this video while some Anderson trucks still had their old signboard and the Volvos were still around. I enjoyed seeing a mouse (mini Amrep) truck unload, I'm surprised that it is full eject but the new rats are not full eject. The MR Amrep ASL sure sounded amazing unloading, no surprise. That was fun watching the MR Able, I'm glad you were able to get some clips of it. Those LEU ex UWS minis look great, I'm glad GI acquired them.

Thank you! Perfect timing for a visit with most of the Anderson stuff still around. I didn't realize it until later that month but one of the WhiteGMCs had already been sent away. All the LNG Macks sound so good when unloading! Always enjoy coming here!

Exceptional work! Very cool to see all of the trucks unloading. And very neat they’ve got some new Mack’s in there considering all the older units that were in their operation being Mack.

Thank you! Always fun to watch! Super happy they got all those Macks from Anderson and UWS and there's talk of possibly adding a few more brand new ones to the fleet

Awesome video!! I really liked seeing all the unloading footage, that’s definitely not something you see every day! All those LE Octos were so neat to see all lined up, especially with the green and yellow striped cabs. GI is one of my favorite sites out there, they really have some of the coolest trucks and some great drivers. I really like those LEU Amreps as well, they look so good with the fresh paint!! All around great video man!

Thank you! Yeah this yard has so much activity, super fun coming here. I miss that huge line up of LE/Amreps! Maybe only half that size now, if that. But still a ton of interesting trucks, and the great people here make visiting extra fun. Appreciate the comment bro!

Outstanding video bro! G.I Is honestly one of my favorite WM yards in the whole country, they have such cool trucks. Its too bad Mack doesn’t make parts for the LNG trucks anymore, I can’t imagine they will be keeping them for more than 2 or 3 years. How long can they keep the diesels before CARB makes them get rid of them? Those MR Octos are some of my favorites, I absolutely love those trucks! The Midliners are super interesting too, Im glad they kept them around. I was really sad Anderson got bought out, for several reasons, but If any yard were to acquire them, Im super glad it was G.I. Honestly surprised the yard had enough room for all their trucks. That transfer operation is something else, but it seems to work well. Your vids always impress and I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

Thank you!! Super awesome yard, if you're ever out here again, you'll have to swing by ;-) I know, super disappointed that the LNGs are getting phased out quickly. I'd be shocked if they still have any of the full size ones by next summer to be honest (they're trying to hold on to the MRs cause they're specialty equipment). Anderson diesels can be kept for a decent time (I think at least 5 more years based on current CARB policies) but original GI diesels are on limited time. They just recently lost 3 MR/Amrep Insta Bin trucks to CARB all in one day (whole BS story to that, let me know if you want to hear it) unfortunately. Parking has been a pain the past year but they're managing! Appreciate the great comment & thanks for watching!

Nice to see the variety of rigs they have, when this was taken at least. It’s a nice change of WM’s cookie cutter fleet in most of the SoCal area it seems. Those Mini LEU’s were the UWS ones correct? Seems like the makeshift transfer operation is tying up a handful of rolloff trucks and operators full time, wonder if they are frontline trucks held back to do it or spares already at the yard most of the time? Nicely put together video!

Even today, the fleet is still super interesting. Love coming here. Yeah more and more sites are becoming standardized but there's a handful of goodies out there thankfully. Correct, the mini LEUs are the ex-UWS trucks. On this day, they were using more roll offs than usual. Typically it's only 1 guy moving boxes around but Ecology (company who is contracted to bring transfer trucks here) had been struggling to send enough trucks that day so it was really backed up. The CNG roll offs you see moving boxes around were guys finished with their loads helping out in the yard before clocking in. Thanks for the comment! Much appreciated!

Amazing videos!! How much longer do you think the majority of the Octo’s have left? Do you think they will open a recycling center or MRF? Do they help collect RecycLA?
@WMmaster6265 жыл бұрын
Thanks. LNG Octos are all on their way out but the diesels likely have a little bit of life in them. No immediate plans to open a recycle center. Only help once in a while when Sun Valley is short on drivers or need help with roll off

Thanks! 220 total assets but as far as ASLs/MSLs/FELs/ROs there's about 160-165 at the moment

Honestly why can’t gi buy a few tractor trailers and haul the recycling to the mrf themselves instead of this which looks like a big mess
@WMmaster6265 жыл бұрын
There's a few reasons: 1. Not enough parking spaces for at least half a dozen trucks and half a dozen trailers, probably more needed 2. It's a multi-million dollar investment into that kind of equipment and that doesn't include the increased maintenance costs 3. Hard to find drivers; they're struggling to find enough qualified guys to drive garbage trucks so it'll be even more difficult to find class A drivers to drive semis (part of the reason Ecology is slacking).
@nate90025 жыл бұрын
WMmaster626 that’s understandable also frustrating that there’s not enough people
@WMmaster6265 жыл бұрын
Yeah, solutions are easy to think of but when it comes time for execution or even preparation, there are a ton of factors that need to be considered so you don't fail your drivers or customers
@nate90025 жыл бұрын
WMmaster626 also was there a dumpster for bulk trash I saw one dumpster that didn’t look like recycling... a short fix would build some better walls around 7:35 so the recycling doesn’t go flying but at least there working with what they have
@WMmaster6265 жыл бұрын
Yeah there was another bin for bulk. Overall a good method and drivers from other yards who come here and help really like how they have a spot to dump in the yard just in case a driver is running late for the day.
