Waste Management: Peterbilt 520 McNeilus ZR Garbage Truck Working Into The Evening

After filming one of the new CNG 520 ZRs, I went back later in the afternoon and filmed this Diesel 520 collecting on the same route. The driver ended up being one of the coolest guys at WM and one of the friendliest drivers I have met. He knew who I was from the trash driver saying that I was filming him earlier that day. He was super chill and more than happy to let me follow him and talk for a while. I was only planning to grab a short video but I found myself following this truck for two and a half hours. In addition to the extra material from Christmas, he had to take a break because his hydraulic fluid heated up a couple times so he ended up falling two hours behind and finished around 6 PM. I figured I would follow until he finished to get some cool sunset shots. At 5:50, you can see him attempt to stand up a bin but he ended up flipping the whole thing upside down, which is much cooler in my opinion lol. Despite not lid flipping, this truck was pretty speedy. The spread out stops and heavy recycling made this more fun to watch as well. This was definitely a fun one to film and I hope you all enjoy the show!

Great job Andrew! Very cool to see another ZR on one of the more spread out routes. Even though ZRs are the only resi side loader WM has, I gotta admit SA has the biggest variety of them. Funny cart flip in there and I like the big logo on those newer cascades as well. Incredible sunset shots too!

Thanks Jay! I enjoyed the more spread out stops too. They do have a neat variety of ZRs since they have Mack and Peterbilt and it’ll be interesting to see how they spec their new ones once they get them. The cart flip was one of my favorite moments and the sunset shots made for a nice backdrop!

Great vid Andrew! I love the sound of the 520 when it accelerates and the ZR makes it even better! I like that the neighborhood is rural and that some houses have multiple recycle carts. Im not a cascade person but the oversized logo looks good on those! Also it was cool when he flipped that cart. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Ryan! I really liked the sound of the truck accelerating too, something about Diesel ZRs sounds really cool in my opinion. I liked the rural setting as well and seeing multiple carts at some houses was pretty cool. I prefer the older Cascades but the new ones definitely look good with these new big logos. Sweet video dude! I really like the look of this combo, and it looks even better with these decals and the yellow arm. It’s always fun following trucks when driver is really cool like the guy here, and that part where he tried to stand the cart back up was really funny haha I like the look of the newer logo on these carts too. You got some excellent shots, especially with the sun starting to set keep up the great work!
