Waste Management Tucson Mack MR Wittke/Leach FL

Another beast front loader from Waste Management of Tucson! Usually it takes me months or years to post a video, but this truck was worth uploading right away. This truck is the last line spare for this yard, but thankfully it is still on route almost every day because of a major truck shortage at WM Tucson. I managed to find this beast finishing up its first load on a Friday route. The driver, Ramon Silva, usually drives a newer Peterbilt McNeilus that has the "automatic rev" function. I was pleasantly surprised to see how hard Ramon revved this beast. He said that if this truck was more comfortable he would take this over his Peterbilt in a heartbeat! There are only 4 diesel front loaders left at this yard, with this truck being the only Mack MR. Stay tuned for an upcoming video showing all of the other Waste Management diesel front loaders! Wow! Another incredible find, that was so cool to see. Huge fan of these old Leach FLs and the driver was a pro with it. Definitely will be watching this again. Nice work!!!

Thank you! Yeah I was surprised to see how well Ramon was running it. He was going nuts! So is that what you would call this kind of front loader? A Leach? I asked the fleet manager and he said it was a Wittke/Pendpac but I have no idea what to call this body.

Never knew Pendpac FLs were a thing, fantastic sounding MR. Glad to see it being used since it seems like the areas of AZ done by WM & RS are mainly newer stuff. Great find and video!

They really aren't a thing, they're really just the last of the Wittke Starlights and Superduty's sold under a different brand as Wittke had already gone defunct by then.

Pedal to the medal baby! Love the scream of an old school Mack bulldog. Kudos on the exhaust/underbody shot, you can really see how much this old girl shakes as she lifts those heavy 8 yarders.

I’ve always wondered why does the driver always put parking brake on every time you empty o in. I ask because in my 30 years of driving a front loader I. Never applied parking brake on to empty a bin

Man this is great. Makes me wish I went with WM instead of Republic but at least i can drive the most unique curotto out there lol. Nothing holds the bar like Consolidated Disposal Services though. Their trucks were the best, Amreps ftw

Yeah the unique curotto is great as long as it doesn't break down on you haha! You have to hop in that Amrep FL they have and show it who is boss!
