Wasted Talent is a gritty documentary where director Steve Stanulis and producer Noel Ashman together examine the temptations and struggles many young celebrities go threw on their rise to stardom. It focuses on the story of actor LIllo Brancato who was once considered to be the next Robert De Niro, after his huge success starring in the films A Bronx Tale (De Niro's directorial debut), Renaissance Man, Crimson Tide and the classic tv show The Sopranos. However Brancato got trapped in the underworld of Hollywood instead becoming a drug addict culminating in his arrest for the murder of a New York city police officer on a drug excursion gone horribly wrong. Though Brancato was cleared of the murder charge, he still did eight and a half years in jail on an attempted burglary conviction. During his time in prison the young actor was finally able to get clean and sober, and is now struggling to redeem himself in the fickle world of entertainment.

He paid his debt to society. He did his time, got clean. He didn’t pull the trigger, it’s time for a second chance. Is he supposed to relive this mistake forever, no one else does. I wish him the best. Don’t waste your second chance, Lillo. All the best to you in your future endeavours. I do suggest you think about leaving New York, though, you may be happier that way and have a fairer shot.

i thought if you killed someone while committing a crime, then all the co-defendants were supposed to get the same murder sentence..

Lol so when your wife or kid get shot in the head the man should be freed instead of life.

You don’t have to pull the trigger. As the commenter above already said, if someone is killed during the commission of a felony, all parties are guilty of murder. Them’s the rules. If you don’t like that, lobby to change the law. But you really can’t say Lillo did his time. That’s not true. He skated after a few years.

@@francomancaDude, get your facts straight. Watch the documentary or get informed, he did not pull the trigger and he didn't even know his mate had a gun. There's even more evidence on his side.

lillo did his time! That one cop saying that stuff about him goes to show why so many cops get caught doing the things police are now coming to light. cops are bitter about any one who comes into contact with them. Now its sad that an cop lost his life, but lillo paid for his part in that incident, again he didn't have the gun, wasn't aware there was a gun, didn't have any know the other was going to engage the off duty cop with the gun. its obvious he is fully remorseful for the whole event. id use to think most of America had more compassion for each other. fellow Americans. but today with all this political, and the former Presidential madness , I see what kind of citizen there is out there now. i truly felt things had changed for the 40s and 50s, unfortunately there's some who love to continue that thinking. i've concerned myself with empathetic, forgiving, and understanding fellow americans. just like in WW2, there was a lot of soldiers, like both my both grandfathers, who signed up to fight fascism, racism, and tyrannical governments. yet at the same time here in America we had segregation, Jim crow laws and the horrible treatment of people of color. however many refused to go along with that and changed things. some at the cost of their life. so in the spirit of positive change we must be open to giving him the forgiveness we'd like ourselves. that's the America i'm hoping for my grandchildren. look how many cops are getting caught these days because cameras are on them now, and once in court they beg for forgiveness. noone is beyond getting caught up in bad decisions.

If anything a cops life is worth less in my opinion. They know the risk, they signed up for it. Carpenters get splinters, cops get shot. It’s part of the job

Because they're putting their lives at risk to protect the citizens (a good cop, that is). If all the cops are killed or disabled, who's going to protect the citizens? I believe that people who's protecting me should receive respect...(again, the good cops)

Some bullshit guy didn't even pull the trigger but all of a sudden he's getting the blame put on him. He's pretty much the outliner in the situation don't blame the guy who was a jackass and wanted to kill just for shit and giggles, but blame the drug addict who was in the wrong place at the wrong time probably just trying to look for some drugs. You got all these cops and other people that are interviewed and they go after the weakest person in the situation. Go figure
