Many years ago, 45 or more, I worked at a little retirement home. On Sunday morning I would put a tape of Jimmy Swaggarts in for an elderly lady who was blind. I would sit and listen with her. That’s where I got to enjoy his music. I will never forget this sweet dear Christian lady who has been with Jesus more than 40 years now. And her vision was restored as she winged her way to heaven with the Angels.

My dad loved Jimmy's songs, he'd have tears streaming down his face as he listens to him sing. He's in heaven now and I always think of dad when I hear Jimmy Swaggart singing.

I went to the liquor store today and bought a bottle of southern comfort. As a million thoughts entered my mind of another man raising my daughter i had intentions on drinking the hole bottle until i read in big letters on the bottle spirits from new Orleans. Then i looked over and saw my expository bible. And thought well there is another spirit from Louisiana. The holy spirit. This song popped up in the feed on my youtube list. 4:34 i believe that.

Brother Swaggart, we grew up in the same tiny town. My Grandpa was a preacher there and eventually moved to Alexandria to take a church. So many times as we headed out 84 and the on 28, my grandparents had an 8 track of you playing and we would sing. Many of those songs gripped my heart when I became a young adult because I had gone astray. Thank you!!

Love brother Swaggart but the service has become so predictable, almost like a Catholic mass. Music, Donnie/ Gabriel introduce new media members, more music, collect offerings, brother Swaggart plays his song, more singing, sermon, maybe a alter call maybe not, end of service. How about laying hands on the sick, delivering out demons, letting the holy Spirit have it's way.
