@@sofasupastargaming did you know if you get side tracked for so long that the "Heads or Tails" quest from the early game ends up failing and both choices go "bad" and you get an achievement.... Kinda gutted as I planned to go to the Hoon Homestead literally right now ha.

Thanks for the shout out, and yes you pronounced my name correctly. I should have also mentioned in the comment I made that the person that shoots the mortar is immune to the explosive damage as well. So you can actually make him the tank if you want. Though i normally just sit back use a sniper to initiate the combat then predict where the enemies will end up at and use mortar with him near the front. That way the enemies use all ap to get over and funnel towards him meaning the entire encounter is done in 1 move. Also another note the last perk in explosives to increase the explosion radius doesnt seem to show the exact area of effect with the mortar skill. I found that its about 3-4 squares from the edge of where it shows. Also for anyone wondering for the highest damage possible I would recommend getting about +2 to +3 ap, maxing awareness, intelligence, and luck. Any other points you could put into strength for heavier armor. I also recommend the following skills to put points into for the build, explosives, leadership, survival, mechanics, and a small amount into animal whisperer. For mods on the weapon I go for increasing the crit chance and crit damage even at the cost of range. For an explanation for the skills other then explosives, leadership gives increased damage, crit chance, and hit chance when you kill things. So if you dont 1 shot everything, everyone else on the team can easily clean up. Survival increases damage to animals, Mechanics increases damage to robots and vehicles. Animal whisperer is just there since it can be for the extra chance to crit.

another great tip i didnt realise he was immune that is ridiculous gotta admit id still sit him back and snipe or chuck turrets most times though but even so means as a last resort you could win with a nuke hitting you on the head lol could make a nice vid appreciated for the input =)

@@sofasupastargaming anytime. I never thought about using turrets, I've only done 1 play through so far, but even without the nukka zuka other launchers just decimated everything. I originally was trying to test things on how to have a character be useful even early with nothing but rockets. I originally thought that the skill was just going to be a big damage boost for the +100%, then i realized it didnt consume ammo. So I just started going ham with the skill in every fight.

Really on pc and xbox it's still the same I did it today take off the gun and reapply make sure you got enough stats to use evthang save it n try again I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for you if you shoot the ammo rather than using mortar it does use it up however

@@sofasupastargaming Yeah everything allright...so the problem i was seeing was that i had 2 nukes and i saw after tzhe fight one was missing... but the thing is i ofcourse reloaded the gun and the nuke was in the barrel and not anymore in the inventory... i dindt take this in to consideration and after some 10 mins of testing i got the answer... sorry to bother xD

@@royalfilho1871 most definitely it will actually get to a stage where he does so much over the top damage that you can use him as your guy for extra skills give him a rocket launcher and the zooka and you'll be set then he will only need a few points here and there as the rest you can chuck where you want he will be like a one shot wonder every 3 turns give or take

No. Mortar Blast can only be used after you enter combat. So no sneak attack.

@@sofasupastargaming yeah its unfortunate, though if you could it would just be that much more broken. Since at that point the mortar would just immediately come down before the enemies get to do anything.

Also if you find it hard to use without killing most of your team, try to use it as an ambush tactic. If i have a fight initiated on me, I just use the skill, then have everyone else run away as far as possible. that way the enemies funnel into it and all die.

Hi I believe the way to still make money works at the moment have a little look through my videos think its wasteland 3 new infinite money...as for mortar it can do but works best when map is all viewable as sometimes it will say it cant reachbit if it's out of sight as such

The issue I have with mortar blast is my pets keep running into the zone and dying. Happens almost every time.

Yeah I gotta admit not much you can do about that so I can definitely see how that counters what you want to achieve from mortar I feel like pets should have an idle mode or stand by or something

I don't find it very useful, because the AI will move away from the target area so quite often, you will cause zero damage.

best to use it tactically lure enemies into positions you want or know when they will be moving forward
