That first “London” Quireboys LP was one of the best debuts ever! Every song, killer.

Loved their "A Bit Of What You Fancy" album. It had a huge Rolling Stones vibe to it -- very organic, melodic and bluesy. It was such a refreshing change of pace from the "crotch rock" 4th-tier bands that were getting signed left and right at the time. I hope Spike sees some resolution with his legal issues regarding usage of the band name.

Have you ever talked to the drunk guy at a party who couldn’t stop talking in circles and just goes on and on and on without letting you get a word in? This interview is that.

MY FUNNY QUIREBOYS STORY WITH ROBBO OF MOTORHEAD, THIN LIZZY! Robbo & myself had been dating & lived together for 5years when this happened. We were contacted by Lita Ford who was doing a gig at The Marquee in 1988 ( she was on tour with Bon Jovi) but did The Marquee gig Inbetween support shows at Wembley Arena. Robbo & myself were having a beverage in The Ship, the local pub on Wardour street the local to The Marquee, when in walks The QUIREBOYS. They were so elated to see Robbo there and were in high spirits shall we say! I was reading my Kerrang! magazine whilst the boys were chatting away, when the singer asked if he could have a quick flick through the magazine. It was the latest issue all about Bon Jovi / Lita Ford tour in town. Well, the singer finished reading my magazine and did not offer it back to me, he rolled it up as if to walk away with my possession! After a few mins I reached out my arm and began to asked him “ could I” when he butted in my mid question and say “have my autograph”? He finished the sentence when I said “NO no, I was just going to ask “could I have it back please?” the Kerrang magazine! Well, all the band & Robbo were in fits of giggles when they heard him ask if I wanted his autograph. He was so embarrassed the jibes he got for that the rest of the night was so funny. You should have seen his face, he really suffered at the hands of the band after that all night! Sadly The Marquee I speak of is not in Wardour Street west End but moved to another premises but great great times were had in there! 💜💜💜

Some conflicting things here, usually is in someones pissed rambling. His comments on the current Quireboys line up (whilst being in it) are a little short sighted, at least in my opinion. Homereckers & Heartbreakers from ’08 & Amazing Disgrace are two of the best albums Spike & the boys have done. He speaks about making the brand bigger (& so it should be) all while doing acoustic solo gigs in pisshole pubs! In 2021 they were opening for Dead Daisies, I Don’t Love You Anymore was building traction thanks to Peacemaker (U.S TV Show) American tour in the works & Rock cruises. Isn’t that “brand” building in the right direction?! If all worked well, Quireboys today could had a decent 02 Academy run here in the UK. Stealhouse & Rambling Man Festivals, dare I say Download! It’s a shame it came to this, especially at a time where (stated above) things were falling into place again. Ive seen Guy’s interview, he seems like a cool guy, but then again, i don’t know him. Like most, the truth can lie somewhere in the middle. I was at the “reunion” show in London. It was a fun show, but at times awkward. Few “Thats / this is the REAL Quireboys” etc etc. The female singer Spike brought out was god awful lol. I’m excited for Spikes album. Hopefully theres a tour on the back of it. For anyone who’s interested, theres a full “Quireboys” gig on KZbin from Norwich this year. 90% of the set is modern stuff.

Griff definitely wasn’t ringing the merch girl during the gig! But you make some really good points & it’s nice to see some people catching on. The contradictions & general level of nonsense claimed in this are beyond. It’s old news & designed to scupper The Quireboys current US tour

The first Quireboys album is a classic. It's a shame Spike can't move on from it! Does He think so little of the albums he recorded with Griff, Paul & Keith.? He'll be lucky to find a band as talented as those three They have been The Quireboys for the past 15 years or more!. He comes over as someone who needs to come into the present and stop living in the past! Sad

This guy whilst drunk and incapable at a festival the other week decided to start telling racist jokes and using racist tropes! He was angry that it "wasn't the 70s which were great" as you could "tell racist jokes". Which he went on to do. Most of the audience (I wish it had been all of them) walked out at that point. I heard someone suggest "it was just the drink talking, we all say daft shit when pissed". Strangely I have seen most of my mates pretty drunk (some what we would say where I live as "blootered") and guess what, they didn't start spouting racist bullshit. Thats because they don't think that way. They aren't racist. Spike is. If he wasn't he wouldn't have spouted such racist garbage at that festival. No wonder his fellow bandmates eventually had enough. If they also knew he was an ignorant racist then they should have done it earlier. I own some of the Quireboys albums but I certainly wouldn't purchase anything now which gives money to this piece of garbage.
