I am from Galiza (Ola irmao 😊) , the Nordwest part of Spain and this is very true: in Portugal many people live in minimum legal wage but prices are very high even higher than in Spain, for example oil. Yes, Russia is cheaper and wages are lower but what is happening in West Europe is insane

$ 10 000 in Canada is not even enough to get started, the fees for Survey's, Building Permits, By -Law Grants, and so on, are outrageous, More outrageous are the cost of Building Materials.

He hasnt built anything, you can buy a lot for 10000 here in Canada and with that you would have sewage, electric and internet all run to your home.

@@EternallyGod You can by those lots in Northern Ontario, in unregulated Townships only. I had to purchase an Xplorenet Satelite Dish for Internet. I'm out of range for Bell and Cable. Only a few have direct access to Hydro, and you need to get a Septic build, that will cost you now around $30 000. You can build a septic belt by yourself, but even unregulated townships will send a Building Inspector to approve of it. You also have to hire Bettray Well Drilling Ltd, to drill a Well for you. There are others too, but when I hired Bettray they had a very likeable Commercial: "No Water no Pay !" In lot of cases, there are only Lumber Jack trails to access those property lots, and Snowremoval is not carried by the township. That will add additional costs. I bought a John Deer Snowremoval (Blower)Tractor in 1984 for $ 16 000. I do not know what they cost today. My access road is a dirt road, circa 300 yards long.

@@EternallyGod I have never in my life seen a lot for $10000 anywhere in Quebec that we looked it was always north of $20k CAD and I've worked in real estate for 30 years. Anywhere near Montreal it's always north of 100k. Perhaps it's different in your nook of the country. There's no way you could buy a lot of the size they got for 10k in Quebec with sewage, electric and Internet. Sewage alone only happens if a project is happening, it's usually septic if you're in the middle of nowhere and even in expensive cities like Hudson, quebec it's not feasible to get sewage so they're often on septic. EDIT: I did a search for fun and the cheapest lot in the entire province is just a bit less than $20k with tax and in the middle of nowhere. Without including welcome tax, power, sewage or road. I didn't read about the requirements for that specific lot which seems to be part of a project and may have a clause that the development must be done to a certain spec buy the builder itself. There's a few in that price range non deforested with no strings attached mind you.

I'm in New Jersey, US. The affordability of the tools and materials you have shown is amazing. Where I am, a piece of land similar to what you've purchased would easily have gone for 200,000, USD. What stands out the most to me is that you can do things as you see fit, nobody is bugging you to see if you have a permit or other nonsense. So long as you abide by your property lines of course. In Quebec (canada) you need a permit for everything, even just to move a fence, to cut a dead tree, to change windows on your house yourself etc. It's quite frustrating, I can do just about anything myself and would love to tackle a project like you are from scratch. It's quite fun to see you guys' progress

He lives in a rural area. You know in rural Iowa, farmers are allowed pretty big leeway and they do their own home building and electricity wiring as well. It just has to be inspected and the reason for that is........if you try to sell it to someone else to avoid someone else getting stuck holding the bag if you took shortcuts or cut safety to the bone.

You can't build on utility lines, can't build living buildings closer than 3m to the border of property, 1m for other (trees too I think).

you still need permits and projects in Russia for potentially dangerous things like gas equipment (stoves, boilers), removing walls in apartments in a multi-storied building (because you could potentially remove a wall that's structurally necessary) and other such things. Though some people don't get permits like those and often live to tell the tale until something happens... hopefully just getting a fine. Sometimes though things turn out badly. Here in Russia we're sometimes fatally attracted to our freedom from government.

My advice is to not move your fence, let some place if you want to use that road in the future for a wider vehicle.

Be EXTREMLY careful with foundation cuz in Russia we have winter ice shifts so properly made foundation is a must make special work to ensure you know everything about land you build

I've seen some people with surprised faces, when they learned the hard way after building foundations themselves and seeing it crack and shift. I know you're better than that, but can't fault the guy, that still made a comment about this topic. It's just in case. People like giving advice, even the one that seems like something obvious. We like getting involved, it's some sort of leftover from communal nature of this country in it's past. Every time I make some repairs on my car outside on a street neighbors and even people that pass by, that I've seen once long time ago, stop by and ask what I'm doing, give advice and sometimes even physically help out if need be. Countryside Russia is the best :)

You and your better half need to put in a large garden and hot house. My daughter did 3 years ago and even though it's a lot of work you get great stuff out of it. Sunday we went to her house and she made a zucchini casserole with queso (mexican), tomatillas, bell and chili peppers and sausage. All the veggies were from her garden. It was BOMB!!! She grows butternut and spaghetti squash too. She saves quite a bit on groceries. Her strawberry patch was in it's prime this year. Huge ones!!! Imagine you and Kesenia sitting on your back porch eating huge strawberries you grew yourself some evening.

I figured it would be cheaper but damn. . That is hell of a lot cheaper. Especially that lumber cost (I'm a carpenter). And the electricity doesn't seem like a bad price. I think people are a bit silly when it comes to tools. I have "cheap" tools and they do jobs I need perfectly. You're really just paying for the name. All in all, I think it's a fair price for a fair plot of land. Especially when you consider you're not just building a home but a future for your lineage. I have no hopes of being able to get a house here. Even a plot and then building would be way much more. Looking good so far! Also do you use any products like mulch/fert/sprays or have snares for your garden? Whats the soil like there in Russia for farming. Keep the videos coming especially the DIY stuff!

I haven’t spent money on good tools yet as the real work hasn’t started. I saved money on hand labor tools where as I’ll spend money on electric tools because these are more important. I’m a marine combat engineer veteran. My pride doesn’t let me over spend on manual labor tools as I can make up for their bad quality but I’ll never risk my work on bad equality electric tools or levels as these make our bread and butter. 🤝🏻

@MsMaxho We had that about 30 years ago in Canada, but Oh Boy things have changed since. A lot of our Lumber Mills are gone, and I have to drive about 150 K to get to the next in Range now. Their prices are now 10 fold to where they where in the 90's. Soft Wood Lumber, turned into Softwood Gold.

The wooden gate and walls are non transparent very solid beautiful providing privacy. That would cost a fortune in our Indonesia but for us it is more safe to build steel gates and brick walls, there is vandalism. How is the progress with the renovation of the existing house and water supply bore well. Make more short vids. Love for the family at home.

Here in USA, "Harbor Freight" is the nationwide go-to for low cost tools. For example, a basic hammer runs about $5, they have a 'stubby' for $2.99 and a really fancy hammer for $14.99. Shovels there run about $15 each. A tape measure is about $5, but some are $2. HOWEVER: if you don't live near a Harbor Freight (mostly in/near cities) you will probably pay a lot more. BTW, here in USA if you look around a little, tools can be found at "estate sales" or thrift shops at near-giveaway prices.

В России есть типа барахолок где много людей продают старые вещи, типа рынка,и там можно купить отличный советский инструмент за копейки. Типа распродажи старых вещей. 9:46 Что крайне странно. Земельные участки либо вплотную примыкают друг к другу, либо между ними предусмотрена дорога, в ширину проезда пожарной машины. А если перенести забор как ты планируешь, то получится половина ширины дороги, а так не бывает, что бы не так и не так. Лучше заранее всё выяснить у администрации.

Да, стоит сделать межевание участка, потому что если дорога единственная для ваших соседей, то вы не имеете права ее перекрывать. Могут быть варианты, но чаще так.

Be careful with such an extension cord, unwind the wire from the coil when you turn on powerful electrical appliances. During operation, the cable heats up, especially if it is not very high-quality, wrapped in a coil, it heats up quite strongly and the insulation of the wire may melt.

Watching you from Hungary. Prices of building materials and tools seem to have gone through the roof everywhere during the past two years. Tools and metal are still somewhat cheaper there and wood and labour costs are substantially cheaper compared to my country. However, if you calculate and compare the average wages, then you realise that they are ripping us off everywhere and only human life is getting cheaper in this world. But the main thing is that you could afford this, so keep up the good work on your property.🙂

From France here and I can say that I found the price of materials quite the same, especially if you want some quality and not dumb. Labor costs a little less on the other hand and since there is less tax it is cheaper. For having done a bathroom and some renovations in Russia (Ural), the prices can be "only" a few hundred euros cheaper. In Moscow this can be totally exaggerated they charge prices randomly and have no concept of value/quality

Labour is very cheap, not expensive at all. As for the items you bought, about 30 - 40% less than in the UK. Removing the rubbish was VERY cheap. Best wishes.

In America we have what is called easements for roads, utilities etc. Your property may show it goes to that stake but due to a road your property has a set back before you can construct anything on it. If you look at your back neighbors fence it sets back off the road, much like your fence already is. Look at your plot map of your land and I will bet it shows 7 feet or more set back due to an easement that you cannot construct or erect a fence on, even thou it is your property. Plus it makes for being a good neighbor.

Nope we went to the city and they told us to build the wall on the points. We talked to the neighbors they said the same. There’s enough room for a normal size road the issue may be someone in front who built theirs way off. Regardless the land I’m reclaiming is 1/6 of the entire plot it’s not worth giving that up to be used as a private road by the neighbors behind me

If what you are reclaiming is 2 meters and you say that makes up 1/6th of your lot then 2 meters x 6 would be 12 meters total width, which means there would be only 10 meters on the other side of your fence. there is a lot more than that there, at least double I would guess just by looking at the video. I live in Romania, our prices are definitely higher now, by quite a bit I’d say but I can’t really compare because it depends on the brands and the quality of the items you purchased. For example for a shovel $40 sounds expensive but it looks higher quality than what they’d sell at a local “magazin”☺️ Since you plan to do the build yourself you probably need to invest in some decent power tools (saws, a concrete mixer, a sander). One thing I was shocked about how cheap it is, the timber you used for the fence, it’s dirt cheap for the amount you got. And the plot is fairly affordable…well, it sounds like it, but on the other hand there are probably not many jobs in the area or a thriving economy so maybe for a local it’s not that affordable. Our plot is the same size, also small town/village, it’s valued at over 10x that but the prices for land differ a lot depending on region, amenities and work opportunities. I mean no offense but it’s too funny, a Mexican dude saying “build this wall” (when it’s a fence) so many times during these videos, it made me laugh😁

@@Wild-Siberia We had our house built to the “shell” stage and did the rest ourselves (install wood ceilings, doors, render the walls, flooring, tiling, painting), and we had some fails too. I don’t know if you need the advice but from what we learnt the “need to have” tools were an impact drill (preferably a higher power one that you can also use to mix mortar, render etc),) an angle grinder, drop saw, jigsaw, manual tile cutter, a level and a whole lot of trowels and buckets.

Если делаешь ремонт, купи бормашину ( гравер) и оснастку к ней. В первую очередь надо брать фрезы, разные насадки, гибкий вал, отрезные диски ( по металлу и по дереву) , шлифовальные диски и барабаны, алмазные диски и боры. Лучше сразу купить большой набор с расходными материалами для гравера. Этот инструмент незаменим при выполнении мелких работ. Он много раз меня выручал.

@@maxt240 Нет, это не болгарка. Гравер, их еще бормашинами называют , это многофункциональный инструмент. Точное официальное название не помню, кажется что то типо прямошлифовальная машина. Как образец посмотрите граверы фирмы "дримель" ( не советую покупать), или "Профиль" ( более реальная машина, но дорогая и не очень удобная). Для них есть куча насадок расширяющих их возможности, от гравировки на разных поверхностях, до заточки инструмента, фрезерования и полировки. Я их чаще использую для мелкой резки металла, фрезерования и сверления стекла.

All this suggests that the question of pricing in each country should be asked to the government. We see that almost all things cannot cost as much as they want to get for them in Europe, the USA, England or Japan (the last two countries are especially expensive). The same applies to work. This or that work cannot cost as much as they ask for it in certain countries; this work (energy costs, intellectual costs will be the same) can be done 6 times cheaper.

I paid, among many other items, $70 for 6 path lights, $80 for an extension cord half the size of yours, $55 for a shovel, and $43 for a hoe. Hiring someone with a backhoe was $350 for 5 hours. That broom, though, $4.83 is too much, since you can make one like that from green twigs. 😂

Покупая землю, ты получаешь только участок. Всё остальное за твой счет. Разумеется, дорогу самостоятельно делать не придется, но это уже другая тема - общее благоустройство поселка. И здесь проект «Мой гектар» берет всё на себя. Но оплата всех коммуникаций ложится на покупателя. Сруб и вывоз деревьев тоже нужно оплачивать самостоятельно. А вырубать иногда приходится много - эта земля если и возделывалась, то очень давно. Поэтому природа там уже вступила в права. 🤔🤔

You did not WASTE!! You are just preparing the site for construction. From the state of its looks, you should have expected some expense to get the place ready for new structure. I want you to watch some videos from the channel: Countryside Acres. You will see that you are going to need some real bucks when you start to actually put the new house together. Aron in Countryside Acres has a large family (all from Canada), and all have a measure of experience building. However, it is quite awesome experience just to watch them folks building a pretty house, on the prairie, so to say.

Do not forget that the wall of the house should be five meters from the “red line” (from the line adjacent to the road). No closer. Otherwise they may forcibly demolish it at your expense. The prices were about what I expected. Most thing in Russia cost less then in the USA. Two main things that increase USA prices. More middle men involved in the USA. Everyone wants a cut, for doing nothing. And government over reach and oversight in the US. Claiming it's health or safety standards. So everything is inspected for approval by some government agency or other. Lumber yards nation wide. All sell split, cracked, severaly warped, and lumber damaged in other ways. It's price is all inflated over rough cut, uninspected lumber. And yet so much inspected lumber is junk. Most USA prices are higher. Because the government insists on their cut. Hidden taxation that does nothing to improve quality standards.
