I really like the way you hand-built the shape, avoiding the soulless look of uniformity. I also love dragonflies. Thanks for sharing your instructions.

Really impressive! At first, I thought you were doing this the hard way…but then the whole result is a beautiful organic masterpiece! Thank you for sharing your process.

oh really love the way you use the stone to add the textures. Are you selling your dragon fly & those little flower stamps?

Thank you! Those are all handmade but, unfortunately I am not selling those stamps..

口取りは一気にもっていかれると思ってました。後ずけで手びねりで?だから味がでて良いですね。👀

And how come the dragon fly stays white after you glaze the vase? Is that because you use the slip clap over the dragon fly? I'm confused?

Thank you for your comment. The glaze will be transparent after firing so that you can see the dragonfly pattern.

How often have you had pots crack while firing
@WatajimaPottery
@WatajimaPottery 2 жыл бұрын
I would say cracks happen once in every 20 vases. Cracks don’t usually happen with basic pieces (plates and bowls) Those vases are thicker than other pieces so they crack more easily. To avoids cracks, I pat them thoroughly with a paddle and let them dry for at least month.

お質問ですが、化粧土を塗る前に、素焼が必要ですか?
@WatajimaPottery

この花入れの場合、素焼きはせずに生土に化粧土を施しております。

I think you should consider replicating and selling some of your artist tools. Ever hear of this guy, Mike Sherrill?

Thank you for your comment. I basically create tools myself that are suitable for my work. I would like to make some videos demonstrating how I create these original tools.
