Muhajirs were the ones who set up all the business (all major banks in karachi were set up by Gujaratis and Delhi walas), Sindh didn’t even had a single university, the very first dean of Sindh university was an Urdu speaker. All major educational institutes like KU, IBA Hamdard Etc were set up by them. Not just this but even SMEs like Silk industry has n banaras area of karachi to glass industry of Hyderabad to paper industry of Nazimabad, factories in Korangi, SITE Etc all belong to muhajirs. Shin breaking industry in Gadani was set up by Gujaratis Etc. Even the Anwar Ratol mango was introduced by the muhajirs. Karachi was a small town of 4 lac people which became depopulated when Sindhi Hindus left, the city and other urban centres of Sindh like Hyderabad Etc were rejuvenated by the muhajirs due to which Sindhi Muslim’s middle class which didn’t existed till 1970s also grew. Muhajirs have contributed a lot to sindh’s economy due to which Sindh govt earns billions in revenue.
