Russian President Vladimir Putin takes part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall, on the anniversary of the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941.
The new Russian Defence Minister, Andrei Belousov, is expected to join Putin.

There are such monuments not only in former SU and Socialist countries but also in Norway ( freed by SU) and France, due the great role of Soviet Partisans in France : thus these monuments honor Soviet partisans in France. There are flowers brought by Russians and French communists.

Belle cérémonie, moi qui marche beaucoup, j'apprécie leur travail sur la marche , cette façon lente de décomposer et d'amplifier toutes les séquences de la marche, les jambes totalement droites. Le ralenti juste avant de déposer le pied au sol, pour monter les marches le 90 degré des genoux, le pivotement des soldats qui lui est sec et rapide, le corps toujours bien droit incluant la nuque et la casquette, il y a quelque chose d'artistique dans ça.
