when the dogs are done and they get their treats and toys!!!!! i would love the weaving pols to be front camera instead of side, so we can see the dog's concentrate when they weave. WEAVING IS ALSO AWESOME!!!!!

When the dog jumps into its handler's arms after the race, which the Border Collies tend to do most of the time :)

@@pdegan2814 It’s usually a trained behavior so it’s not necessarily Border Collie specific thing. A lot of different dogs of different breeds are taught this. Heck, I personally know someone who competes with an Aussie that would tackle her at the end of their run so she taught it to jump into her arms, instead. The dog is heavy, but way better than being tackled and the dog gets put on the floor pretty quick anyway.

It’s almost always seeing Pixel. I do agility with my Mini American Shepherd, too, so I love watching dogs of his breed compete!

It’s just a trained behavior that’s done by handlers of many different breeds. It’s not actually most Border Collies that even do it.

@@atrudokht lol I compete in this sport. It’s a trained behavior not exclusive to Border Collies. In fact, most handlers won’t have them do it and it’s not commonly cued in class. I see far more smaller dogs being taught and cued to do it. I encourage you to go to a local trial and let me know how many dogs you see doing it (and how many Border Collies vs other breeds). 🧐

Border Collies tend to do really good in agility contests, so good that in some contests they even get their own category to make it fairer for the other breeds. It's because they're bred to herd large herds over vast areas of rugged terrain and long distances, essentially running cross country marathons every day their whole lives, so these agility competitions are pretty much the kind of stuff they're born to do. Verb in particular has been quite successful and has experience in these shows

Something a lot of people not in the sport don’t know of is that for the more advanced competitions we have (AKC Agility Nationals and AKC Agility Invitational.. Westminster is just a “showy” competition), the rules on mistakes are a tad more flexible. At your usual weekend trials, at the Master level, you can’t make ANY mistakes to qualify on a run.

It looks like they're separated based on their heights. And then the jump heights are adjusted for each category of dog heights.
