It makes no sense that in the past 32 years we have had one... ONE CiC with military training (GW Bush), and he didn't even have combat experience!?!?! (Yeah, there was once a time when the National Guard stayed in Country to protect from invaders, and not sent overseas. I understand why this was necessary in the Gulf, but since 2001 it has not been) Break it down... From Eisenhower through GHW Bush every President was a WWII , COMBAT EXPERIENCED, Officer ( most of them Navy ... JFK, I think LBJ was Navy, pretty sure Nixon was Navy, Ford and Carter definitely were, GHWB was Navy Aviation. Reagan was Army Air Corps, and Ike was not only Army, but Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces of Europe!!!! Their Party doesn't matter. What matters is they knew what war was firsthand, and had the training and EXPERIENCE to LEAD service personnel!!! Clinton was a draft dodger, pardoned by (Republican) Ford (I totally disagree with his Exec Order on that subject) whom LEFT THE UNITED STATES!!! That alone should have disqualified him from Presidency! Who knows where Obama was really from ( even Trump dropped that subject as redundant) but either way, he didn't serve. Trump didn't serve either. Both were of age they didn't HAVE to, but could have. Biden? What's his excuse? He was of draft age for Vietnam. It was his life's dream to be CiC.. not even National Guard, Joey??? C'mon, Man! You could have served your Country and not seen combat back then! At least W did that much! It scares me that a kid Cadet from the C.A.P. or JrROTC knows more about military leadership and protocols than FOUR US Presidents!!!! Military service, preferably as an Officer, should be MANDATORY for the office. I don't care which Branch. At this point I don't even care if you were just a Cadet that didn't make it into actual Service. But you should at LEAST have the leadership training and knowledge of protocols TO KNOW WHEN AND HOW TO SALUTE!??!?!!! Trump doesn't salute properly, BUT HE DOES IT!!! Just... Just... C'MON MAN!!!! Show RESPECT!!! Ok, there's my morning rant. My point is the world is in a precarious situation.
