Telemetry is lost at T-7:55 at an altitude of 84,226 ft / 25.6km and velocity at 5046mph / 6896kmph which is pretty toasty at that altitude.

Crazy. After all of these years of making fun of Blue Origin, just like that, they leaped frogged Spacex in launch capability with New Glenn. At least until Starship becomes fully operational.
@brettmciver43238 минут бұрын
They didn't leap frog SpaceX at all , SpaceX is still testing different components aka the hear shield and other components (the new pezz dispenser for the starlink satellites)and they have had a booster catch and they have been landing falcon 9s on barges for how long now??
@gracialonignasiver630229 минут бұрын
@@brettmciver432 I'm focusing more on the fact that Blue Origin now has a rocket that can get multiple times the amount of payload into orbit as Falcon 9 for nearly the same price. Landing the booster, which Blue Origin will most likely figure out over their next few launches, is irrelevant to potential customers as long as the 2nd stage is guaranteed to make it to orbit. The appeal will be the larger cargo bay. As of right now, New Glenn is the largest active rocket on the market. As long as the 2nd stage continues to make it to orbit, Blue Origin can literally start accepting customers while working out the kinks of landing the booster. I call that leap frogging Spacex.
@brettmciver43218 минут бұрын
@gracialonignasiver6302 Nope, I call that getting one rocket part to orbit . What happens if in the next SpaceX flight they hit all of their goals? And flight 8 they launch starlink satellites too? Which is something I heard Elon say about Ss8s launch. These are different approaches, yes leapfrogging no.
@BigDBran14 минут бұрын
@@gracialonignasiver6302if they can’t land the booster, price per launch goes way up. Small accomplishment from Blue Origin. Turn your brain on.
@tomgizemil14 минут бұрын
@@gracialonignasiver6302Sorry but no: one successful launch is not leapfrogging anyone. To begin with they do not have the capacity to launch 150 times a year. They cannot build enough rockets. And they cannot even think of competing on cost until they manage to reuse their first stage a few (let alone 25+) times. To make it even worse, SpaceX is reportedly very frugal and BO has a far more traditional approach, especially on costs. It is all quite well documented. We'll see how it pans out for BO. I wish them the very best because competition is good, but let's not get ahead of ourselves

So when did they start lying to us...AS little as Besos has been informative over the years it is no surprise for lying for so long after they lost the Booste... Probably blew up at tele-loss...!!!! But then I did not expect the Booster to make a landing on the Barge. I did expect them to make it down through Max Aerodynamics and Heat stress. But it looks like it did not last that long... which makes it worse... At least SpaceX did not expect its first Super Heavy Booster to make it back the first launch... But that is why Musk wanted to do some rapid test flights to Iron out the Bugs... Besos is just finding out about on what was expected to be a perfect flight after 20 years of pushing slide rules instead of testing... Bet those huge bottom fins are more destabilizing than helpful...!!! -------. Also, The times between booster shut down, separation and then second stage light off, totaled almost half a minute... How much Orbital weight did that cost New Glen...??? ---------. Hopefully, they will get the landing next time but I won't hold my breath...!!! 😉

Superheavy is already a methalox booster. And SpaceX has already recovered/landed/caught one. New Glenn uses hydrolox upper stage, which has been done many times before. They are going into Middle Earth Orbit (MEO). It is something new to spaceflight as Starship hasn't fully orbited the Earth yet, New Glenn's second stage will. New Glenn is officially the first U.S methalox rocket to achieve orbit and will have the furthest orbit of any methalox rocket yet. Also, I believe Blue Origin is now the first private company to achieve orbit on their first attempt with an orbital class vehicle.

Well dont forget that SpaceX havent tried to make orbit yet. SpaceX knows orbital flight in and out, but what they dont have data on is reentry. All 6 IFTs have been focused on the hardest parts of the flight, reuseability. New Glenns main objective was to make orbit, and their secondary was to land (which they obviously havent figured out yet). Starship is a whole different beast, and its main objective is to be fully reuseable. Getting that ship back from near orbital speeds and landing while still having good payload capacity is an insane feat of engineering.
