No, the harder foam is pretty smooth. It gets its hardness from being quite dense. Now the softer foam might leave micro scratches on precious metal or highly polished surfaces because the material itself is a bit rough and there's some friction when compressing the foam.

@@watchcraft I just bought the 6 watch version. I have placed a soft glasses cloth on top of the face of the watch so the soft foam does not come into direct contact with the watch.

foam sucks. Just make this but by traditional rolls and put it in the foam case

i think it's safe if you only use the hard cussions (more dense) and put a cloth on top before you close the lid

I have this case too. Its awesome. But forget about using it for Panerais though, it won't fit. Especially those 46mm cases.

I've seen cases where the watch face rests above the foam layer, and the watch will be perfectly fine.

First of all; nice review! I like your honest and direct opinion. I came across this video as I am considering getting a Peli case - you have def further ignited my interest! A couple of questions if you don’t mind; - Do I understand it correctly that both type of cushions (soft & hard) are automatically/freely included with the case? Or do they charge extra for this? (I couldn’t find any of it on their website) - why did you not go for a ‘Peli Protector nameplate’ also offered by this vendor for this case? (As I’m doubting whether I should just go for the case or also include a ‘nameplate’) - judging by your accent, I think you have German roots (I do apologize if I’m totally off here!) - due to this whole brexit situation - if you indeed live in Germany how was the experience with ordering this from the UK and having it delivered in Germany? In addition to the internal shipping fee, any additional import costs or anything of the sort? How was fast the delivery? - What made you for go for this case - instead of other cases? Also why this 10 watches case and not the 18 watches case (by the same vendor)? Or the 15 watches case (offered as a Peli 1500 case by a German vendor)? -> as clearly any Peli case for watches is customized by a vendor and not directly offered by the manufacturing company as a watch case. I appreciate your replies! PS; I just subscribed to your channel, looking forward to more content and will def look up your previous posts :)

Happy to hear that you like the video. - Both cusions are automatically included. There is no extra charge or need to select an option. - I wasn't even aware that a name plate is possible. - I live in Switzerland so the package had to go through customs even before Brexit and I had to pay a small customs fee. How much depends on your location. Delivery time honestly I don't remember. - I chose the 10 watches case because at the time I thought I will not own more than 10 pieces in the foreseeable future. So I think the size of your collection is the most important factor here. Moreover I chose this vendor because I simply couldn't find another who customized the Peli case for watches. What's the name of that german vendor? I'd like to take a look. And please note that this information only applies to the one vendor i referenced in the description of the video.

@@watchcraft first of all; I appreciate the prompt reply, danke! :) In my google search I came across a German company called ‘Blacksteel watches’ (hamburg based). Their website isn’t working but on their fb page they have old (2011/2014) pictures of peli 1500 cases they converted to 15 watch cases. So far my preference does goes out to the 10 piece case from the UK vendors, thx again!
