I played it on ps3, was a day one preorder. I didn't hate it but it didn't live up to the hype. Loved watch dogs 2 on PC even though it was a crap PC port. I played the hell out of legion on PC, then bought a ps5 copy on clearance at Walmart for $15. For another $10 I upgraded to the ultimate edition, which also included a digital ultimate edition of watch dogs 1. I'm about 32 hours into my playthrough on ps5 and I can't believe it's a nearly decade old game. It's aged incredibly well. And I've matured a bit so I can empathize better with the characters and appreciate the storyline and writing more. I don't think there'll ever be a fourth one because Ubisoft lost a ton of money from legion and pretty much killed the online after about a year

Watch dogs 1 felt like playing Batman. The theme resonated a lot. You can hack devices, create black-out. Protagonist is a vigilante who is taking revenge for death of a family member, and after the game is over he continues to punish and bring offenders to justice. It was a nice feel playing this game

Yeah i can't take 2 seriously or get into it or relate to the character and imo the combat/gameplay isn't great enough to carry it. Esp because in the first one you have a sense of righteous indignation to just punish everyone who gets in your way and not feel like you're supposed to spare everyone with nonlethal attacks or non badass 3d printed stuff. They totally tried to water it down and they force you to do more that removes you from your character to engage with enemies.

I got Watch Dogs cheap at a black Friday sale in 2014 and I knew nothing about it except it was about hacking. I've played it through about 10 times now and I love doing so every time. It was the first game that actually felt open world to me and it's atmosphere and aesthetic remain untouched in my opinion. Both this game and it's sequel are very high on my list of favorite games of all time. We don't talk about Legion though.

I love the gun-fu style takedowns and how this was basically john wick simulator before john wick was even created. the serious/mature tone of the game was perfect too. I wish they expanded on this more so gritty and grounded feeling compared to WD2 that feels closer to GTA due to the more light-hearted approach although still a fun game that was.

I used to just walk around, the atmosphere of the game was amazing. The part that nails it is Aiden himself, walking around with hands in his pockets and then taking them out to use his phone really just felt real. I used to imagine how amazing a sequel would be with a proper graphics upgrade, but then we got WD2 and it moved away what made WD1 special by focusing on a fake more upbeat character and story instead of a more grounded and realistic approach. Still love both games but I hope one day WD1 gets a re-make since I doubt a game will ever come out like it again. People love being immersed in a world yet somehow we keep moving away from what makes games immersive.

Watch Dogs 1 was a great game. One of the major issues was that Ubisoft's promises about its graphics didn't hold up, leading to some disappointment. I loved the game when it was a year old when I bought it. I never watched E3, so it didnt affect me. I can understand the frustration, but gamers are so whiny at times. The game itself is mature, has solid voice acting throughout, and a story while not special, good enough to keep you hooked throughout. I loved Aiden.

When I was young (around 14), my parents really didn’t want me to have video games like many other kids did. But I managed to save some money and secretly buy a used Xbox 360 in 2016 and one of the games I could grab a hold of back then was Watchdogs and that was one of the first games along with Forza H2. And I loved it so much that I played it till I completed everything (like full 100%). 7 years later I bought a Series S because of my first proper job and I just replayed Watchdogs all over again and I still love it. It just felt so nostalgic. I think even with big flaws, its still worth appreciating such games when you haven’t had much opportunity to play them.

I got it Day 1 and while disappointed in the downgrades the game was unique enough to keep me engaged, I really loved how detailed Chicago looked and how dark and rainy it was. Definitely my favorite in the series as I did not at all enjoy the 2nd or Legion.

I honestly enjoyed WD1. Im personally from Chicago and loved the idea of being a Chicago vigilante. If ubisoft had accuratley created the city the way they did WD2. I would of hands down loved it. Besides that this game was released around the time of GTA 5 which really put the game at a popularity disadvantage. I hope if they ever create more WD games they focus on parkour and a more gritty/raw story that aiden pearce had.

I thoroughly enjoy the open world in Watch Dogs. It feels more alive than GTA by a landslide. The amazing recreation of Chicago with very good graphics, the CTOs profiler that gives you unique details of people and steal their data makes it feel more alive and personal. And the dialogue is really good, even discussing current events in the story in real time.

As a whole I'd say Watch Dogs 2 as it pretty much improved on everything but has a very different tone so they'll of course be people who prefer the original Watch Dogs and it's Noir inspired tone or the more colourful San Francisco setting of Watch Dogs 2. I personally just love how active the world of Watch Dog 2 and how reactive it's npcs can be from getting into fights to gang wars throughout the city. Even people with licences to carry will have firearms on them if you piss them off. The combat and the ability to free run was also improved and added so it was all around fun, San Francisco was also a much more interesting city. I do prefer the story of the first game though along with it's gritty Noir tone and brutal gameplay. Chicago was just a pretty boring location with not much to do and the npcs don't come close to that of Watch Dogs 2 in terms of how active they are along with the range. Saints Row 2 has better NPCs compared to the first Watch Dogs btw. Watch Dogs is better on PC with the mod that tries to make the game as close to the E3 gameplay as possible. Remember playing it on Xbox 360 for the first time and it was extremally limited compared to Xbox One/PS4. And finally Watch Dogs Legion was mixed for me. I loved the setting and the ability to play as any character along with the active npcs from Watch Dogs 2 returning and will interact with you if you harmed or killed one of their family members, friend, or lover. But the story was so forgettable and a few hours in i just found a character that fitted myself and started roleplaying as me in a light Cyberpunk London.

As someone who 100% the game on all platforms (except Wii U and PC being a WIP), I would love to see Ubisoft make a remake, the story was great and the online hacking mode is addicting. Ps. If somebody would like to experience Watch Dogs 1 for the first time I recommend you play it on a Xbox Series console since it's the only platform (besides PC) where it runs at smooth 60fps thanks to FPS Boost

The funny thing about performance is you gotta cap it around 60 FPS so I would recommend 58-59 and the constant FPS dip isn't because of the game I've been playing it on a laptop at full graphics and never got an FPS dip even with shaders

I played it when it was released in 2014, and then again with the T-Bone DLC. 2021 served it as a filler before the release of Cyberpunk 2077, and I revisited it once more about six months ago! Whenever I feel like playing a round of poker, I’ve been firing up Watch Dogs 1 since 2014. As for Watch Dogs 2 and 3, I couldn’t connect with their stories-I still prefer the good old revenge plot. I can’t understand the people who complained back then that Aiden was too dark and brooding. 😄

I absolutely love that Aiden's animations look like he's being inconspicuous. it's an idea started with assassins creed. a type of psuedo stealth. hiding in plain site by blending in with the crowd and acting casual. It's an idea that feels "next gen" just because it's something I've hardly come across in games. there's also just cool little actions you can do throughout the world and little details. I don't remember what exactly. I just remember being extremely impressed by this game after reading all the bad reviews and being like wtf???

I love this game out of all three games in the series! When I played this game back in middle school when it came out, I just fell in love with it overall. The Rosewood, Defalt's car...my GOD I LOVE THAT CAR because of it's uniqueness from being a regular economic car to an all show, all go car before Aiden chased him around the inner city of Chicago(The Loop and Mad Mile). Watchdogs 2...it's alright because I've played the second game too. The second game had more space and exploration, in terms of exploring beyond San Francisco. The second game's plot was kinda borderline since I've figured out from the first mission that I was a DedSec member, I mean come on. The two characters I liked the most in the second game are Raymond Kenney and Wrench. Raymond Kenney....I probably don't need an explanation for that rad dude. Wrench, gonna love his personality, mask, and his approach to life. Those two were the only guys why I completed the second game. Legion...Why?....Just why? The third game is set like twenty years into the future and in a crowded city filled with dread combined with misery where I felt like I was closed in a closet. Dalton, the MI5 agent I thought was the most decent character and the one I thought was the protagonist in this game gets popped. Then I thought I was gonna play as Sabine Brandt, who I thought was like a mix of Aiden Pearce because she seemed like a decent character to play and Marcus Holloway as she WAS a DedSec member. But nope, I play as a random person off the streets of London that literally NO ONE CARES ABOUT, in real life and in game. The plot..I kinda see where the developers were going back to how the first game was but then the car(the third game's overall quality of everything) drove into the left field and crashed on its roof. So...yeah I personally love Watchdogs 1, as my favorite Watchdogs game because of its overall balance in general and why I got hooked to the franchise in the first place. I hope that IF Ubisoft creates Watchdogs 4, please please please keep the car on the road until its destination compared to Legion.

The dark tone, the vigilante aspect, and the online, gunplay are just mad fun. Most memorable moment for me would be pressing Esc and still see the world moving, you just know you are in for a treat lol. I guess why it is so fun is because the world is just so.... alive, random funny text, random occupation, like the guy with HIV and occupation is blood donor. Sh*t is lit yo. I own around 150~ish games in total (Mafia,gta,forza (horizon,Motorsport), far cry ( 1,2,3 (Blood dragon), 4,5,6), Tomb raider, ghost recon, the division (1,2), FNAF, WRC, DIRT, etc.) and the only game that made me cry irl was this one. The story is amazing, graphics (not wow, but still). I always liked dark-themed games, and this is the best one so far.

Did you know the graphics in the game actually were in the game? Hackers found code in the files for a secret graphics setting that matched the graphics seen in the trailers. Apparently Ubisoft didn't make this the actual graphics because they though the consoles couldn't handle it

Ignore L321 on the performance issue on PC, if you cap it to 60fps it will run fine. Many people myself included load tons of extra shaders, textures settings above vanilla and it runs like a dream. Must have been something like his capture card or rtss interfering with the game.

We're all ten years older now. We've grown up. Our perspective on life has changed, and our perspective on games has done just the same. Our younger minds just looked at the demo, loved it, saw the release, and immediately thought "oh no a downgrade" now that we've all got wiser heads on our shoulders we can appreciate what a great game it was. Being able to play as anyone in Watch Dogs Legion made it my favorite one. Watch Dogs 1 had the best story though.

I just brought all 3 watchdogs, just completed 1. The driving is absolute RUBBISH. . . Just started 2 and the driving hasn't improved. Hopefully by legion its a bit better ❤

I played it 2-3 years after release, and at that time there were a few graphics mods available. And I can say that the mods improved graphics a lot, it looked exactly like in E3 footage (sometimes) or even better especially at night or when it was raining. I believe my pc could run it no more than 40-50 fps at that time, I enjoyed the game very much, my only complain was the car physics. So if you are going to play it today I strongly recommend PC version with graphic mods)

currently playing it again now. it’s a good game. I personally feel that If Aiden Pierce (who I find is the most boring character In the whole game) was instead of psycho-uncle-hellbent-on-mass-murder-to-avenge-niece was actually a broken father who’s daughter had been killed, jacks was his son and Nicky his ex-wife rather than sister; the story would of had so so much more weight behind it. I also like travelling by train a lot. the trains and general world in this game is really quite good.

I'm someone who didn't like 2 that much as I couldn't get into it and was quite disappointed by legion. But the first game stands out to me alot still to this day. I love the setting and what they did with chicago and it feels like a real living city with believable character models that are actually good. Aiden Pearce is a great character and the overall story isint actually that bad in my opinion. I personally don't care too much about the graphics situation. What we got was fine to me but I can see why so many felt a bit disappointed that ubisoft failed to deliver on promises. I thought the gameplay was alright too but some parts like the cover system in combat were quite terrible at times and the actual hacking did feel somewhat underwhelming sometimes too which they did improve in the 2nd game. Overall watch dogs 1 is a game that launched bad but ended up actually being a pretty good experience. Its not perfect by any means but I do think it's worth giving it some love.. plus you can pick up this game for so cheap these days!

I played watch dogs 1 a year or 2 after it came out i was legit 8-9 also when i started assassin’s creed and cod but i fell inlove with this game and wd2 great games those two impacted me alot and ive played them many times but i havent touched them in a few years so imma replay all games in order

I got it at day 1 on PS4, knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it, I just went to gamestop randomly, was going to get one of the mafia games, then I saw this, liked the cover, bought it, loved it, I didn’t even read the back of it. I just replayed the entire game on PS5, finished the game, now 100% it, didnt feel repetitive once.

Really a shame watchdogs wasn’t done by another studio after the first it’s a great foundation but 2 legion just everything after was such a change in tone for damn near no reason like it just turned y2k
