That’s true but the hype was focused on Rolex AP Royal Oak Patek Nautilus Aquanaut. Current production models. Suckers will be suckers. Lots of impulse buys at inflated prices in hopes these watches will make them money. For me…. I won’t pay more than retail. I’m mean $56k for a $7k Rolex OP “Tiffany” dial 3 years ago? C’mon…. $56k at the time could buy you a Patek Annual Calendar or World timer brand new at retail, no waitlist. Which is something that will gain value in 20-40 years.

It's like the Stocks, bonds or bitcoin. You buy it because you love the company or you want to speculate. And then, the price keeps on going lower and lower. And, you are in denial that if I'm not selling, I am not takin a loss. Until one day you cannot take it any longer and you sell it. 😂. Financial 101 lesson for both of you. Never buy anything with emotions. One day you should speak about the Consignment business (low ball the price of purchase off the street to allure the customer for a possibly higher price so with no money of your own you get free inventory) as well as Watch Raffles.

Yes sir, these filthy grey market dealers are shitting their pants. Many banked on the hype and over bought at high prices. Many are in denial are refusing to sell their stock. That’s why they do raffles or resort to Con-signment sales. Truthfully I wouldn’t trust any of these grey market dealers. They are exposed for shady deals and many super replicas are in rotation.

I have always bought extremely niche collectors pieces and those prices havent really been affected at all. Everyone was expecting the bubble to burst. Tons of hypewatch dealers are in big trouble.

if you want to invest, then you need to be looking at other classes of things. You took no loss as you said. You paid the price for the watch and guess what, you still have a fantastic watch that you appreciate and admire. Thats all there is and you've lost none of that. Great watch, wear it well.

1:25 Watches are not appreciating assets until a buyer has offered to buy at a price higher than you have purchased. Done. Period.
