Please enable subtitles for commentary. StarbaseSim is now available to purchase and play on Epic Games Store: store.epicgames.com/p/starbas... This will be basically the same as what supporters got until now. The current supporter version and store version are exactly the same. It will just be much more convenient to play like this, especially multiplayer. You can find here, what that means for supporters: ko-fi.com/post/Epic-Games-Sto... Price is set to 12.30 $/€ with regional adjustments as suggested by Epic and only a few additional adjustments here and there by myself. This includes all future updates. Development is planned to continue as before, if support is big enough. So similar updates as before, every one to two months normally. Free Itch version will still be available, but with longer irregular update intervals: ashtorak.itch.io/starbase-sim... The current store version will come to Itch, after the first update for the store version is out. It will also come to Steam sooner or later. But let's see first how it goes on EGS. There will be cross play. So for multiplayer it doesn't matter, where you get it. If you want to have it on Steam later, but play right now, you can also become a builder via Ko-Fi and then you will get a Steam key whenever it is released there. There are more perks to being a builder. So you should check it out in any case. It has taken a lot of time and sweat to set this all up, so I want to work on an update now, before looking into how to do a Steam release. The next update will feature a first version of Massey's and some static firing capabilities and maybe more. After that I will take care of the launch site. Would be funny if flight 5 booster lands like that, just goes donk, and sits there like a serene giant redwood. Nice landing of Starship and launching the sim!

Don't know if it's that stable in reality and there are a lot of residuals left that go boom big time, if there happens to break a pipe somewhere.

could you imagine if this would happen in real life, I feel I would laugh just as hard as I did watching this! 😂 Just ships and boosters flying around starbase/boca looking for a mechazila to catch them

This is an AMAZING "game"!!! It's more of a training simulator that TEACHES you how this will all work. Lots can be set to automatic so it's easier, but will still be tricky, but EXTREMELY rewarding when you finally learn how to make regular Catches. At first/ when practicing & learning, you can set up MUCH shorter runs, where you're already in the atmosphere, you can set whatever altitude & prop load you want. If you love Starship & really want to KNOW it, get going with StarbaseSim now, so much fun, and you'll be one of a tiny handful of humans who know how to Catch Boosters & Starships.

Any plans to adding a bigger ground texture around the earth, also the ability to go to orbit?

yes, textures will be improved along the way. Orbit might take a while though as focus is on ground stuff for the moment

For the gravity, what if you just have it decrease as a function of horizontal speed? I’ve never used unreal tho, so there’s probably a million reasons that won’t work lol

There are certainly ways to fake it, but I don't think it's that important right now and it can be done properly when I get to it.

because it's dumb. But seriously, I guess, they are just overly cautious with stuff coming from Itch and zip files in general probably. It's not a virus, just an Unity game.

@@JaivianDean at the speed things are going nothing would surprise me ,, i am just wondering on how they are going to land on the moon or mars? there is no tower there and they are not going to land upright 🤨and will not have enough fuel to take off again
