Rocky because of watching of you, I rescued a dog that was going to be put down 7/19, he was on his final stretch, & I saw that it had over 15k views & as I read through the comments, I didn’t see that anyone has saved him yet, so I called he was there & I went to meet him & adoped him. We named him Oso, & rather than be put down, he was picked up 7/19 🫶🏽 because of you. So you are still doing god works by inspiring others to rescue the precious babies that show us so much unconditional love. So thank you 🙏

We adopted a rescue pup (as far as we understand, from an abusive and neglectful hoarder home) who was completely shut down like this. She spent the first few months hiding under beds and tables and couches, but now after a year of gentle patient love and affection, she's completely changed and come out of her shell. Trust takes time and patience to develop, but once you get there the reward is enormous. She's such a cuddly affectionate dog now, she loves jumping up onto laps and getting head massages. I hope Piper can turn out the same with the right family.

Corgi mix, imo. Those ears! Super precious. This one would definitely benefit from a foster. I'm fostering a pup now that was scared of life when I first picked her up. She wouldn't even walk, only belly crawl, so I had to carry her everywhere. But she's happy now and it's only been two weeks.

Little Piper reminds me of my Sami dog when I first got him. Took me a long time to get him to relax. He had been returned several times. It was so sad. He had been abused, but eventually we got him to relax, especially around men. He passed away in 2023 after being with me 17 years. When he passed he was about 19 or 20.

I’m in the same boat. I’m in Texas and disabled. I’ve held off getting a dog until I realized there are plenty of calmer dogs out there and I’ve got plenty of support to help walk one. So I cleared it with my helpers and set out to find one locally. Found the most adorable pit mix with an infectious smile that’s looking for someone to cuddle with. I pick her up next week. Awwhh bless her! In the UK we CAN'T "sit with dogs" only volunteer to walk them. Unfortunately, I have degenerative spine, I can sit but, not walk! Had dogs & trained them all my life plus a 30 yr healthcare career! It's ridiculous, many of us could help get these dogs get adopted!

She looks just like our rescue pup. The city pound said he was Chihuahua, but he looked like a Corgi/Spaniel/Papillon mix. Turned out to be a Deer head + Deer leg + Fawn coat Chihuahua. He just passed July 3rd. Best dog we have ever had. His coat was a bit redder, otherwise she looks like she could have been from the same litter. I hope her new family treats her like a queen! Edit: He was just as afraid and passed over by the rescues! We found him on his last day, it was a high kill shelter that only gave them 3 days! Thank you for what you do!!

One of the best things about living out in the boonies is that everyone knows everyone else's dogs. So even if, say, my Gracey went for a walkabout, anyone within 5 miles would recognize her and give her a ride back home. Probably after feeding her and playing for an hour or so. Most dogs don't wear collars and often we don't even look for them until sundown. Gracey has about 65 acres she likes to keep tabs on. Make sure the neighbor's cows are doing ok. Where are the turkeys hanging out, check the latest deer bulletin board postings, etc.

Same here...we live on 22 acres in northern,Me.....sometimes we take the girls collars off in the evening to give them a good scratch and forget to put them back on for a couple of days.They know what theyre property line is and dont wander off.

@deannamunro8148 When I got her she was a highly abused animal. Every time I spoke she would roll over and pee herself a little. She was supposed to be put down. I accidentally 'threatened' what would happen if she was not happy and healthy when I came for her. It took a good 6 months before she began to realize she was 'home'. Even now, years later, certain words can put her in a fear state. But she is so worth it. The best dog I have ever met. She is simply perfect. I am the lucky one. And I know it every day.

We lived on a 50 acre farm and our dogs were never on a lead or locked up but knew their boundaries. We are retired now and one of our dogs is 15 now with arthiritis and living on 2 acres. 😊
