This is going to be my first quad, could I run it off a 3S 750mah? I have a ton of RC helis ranging from a Specter 700 to a OMP M1. My Goosky s2 and OMP M2 use 3S 750 mah batteries. I'm thinking it might be good to start with 3S to get use to FPV with but was wondering if that would be a good idea or if 3S wouldn't have the voltage to make it fly very well?
@NickBurnsFPV22 күн бұрын
We could but the control won't quiet be as it should. This is the primary issue with running a lower voltage (fewer cell battery). The PIDs and filters are setup for 4s, running 3s it will likely feel a bit loose or even sloppy on the controls. 3s will still work, it will just fly different.

What's your favorite backyard drone for freestyle? I bought a 5-inch with DJI v2 goggles and a DJI FPV controller. Needs an entire football field to make sense flying it. If I were to buy the vtxless version of this drone and pair it with an hdzero whoop light vtx, do you think the flight time would increase to around 5 min for a freestyleish flight? its roughly 35 grams lighter. I only have one drone, the flywoo nanobaby v2 hdzero, and I'm looking to get something bigger that gives similar flight time and not too big that it will scare people.
@NickBurnsFPV4 ай бұрын
Hmm it will likely be close. Saving more than 10% in weight should get over 4 minutes in on a 650mah the 720mah should be pushing 5 minutes
@TheDepep14 ай бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV Thx. Ill add this one to the list of potential builds.
@kevinthealienfpv4 ай бұрын
In my opinion, it would be better to opt for a race v3. It weighs a gram more than the whoop lite, but they output about ~15% from what I've seen, which applies a small bandaid to the whoop lite's lack of range.
@danfpv1479Ай бұрын
Saw that there is an oasisfly30 also. There is a big difference between those two? In flying characteristic etc?
@NickBurnsFPVАй бұрын
I wouldn't think the differences would be huge. But in the case of basically the same quad with larger props, we would expect to see longer flight times, and more overall thrust, but producing the thrust or "response" would be a tiny bit slower.

No it can not accept a 3" prop. The prop will not clear the metal side piece of the nose of the quad. Pretty much universally BNF quads come designed with the largest prop it can run. On those that can run a larger prop it also requires an arm change to accept the larger prop.
