The way the Chinook zoomed into the camera was awesome. Lovely shot 👍

Can't imagine what it would be like to have a bunch of WWII warbirds buzzing through the Loop. It'll be an audio spectacle as well. Great video Paul, by the way :-))

Awesome. Those Tucanos almost reminded me of a flight of Spitfires out of Llanbedr in the 1940s.

I love how the Osprey zipped by twice as fast as the Chinook, and quieter as well. Too cool.

The Tucanos remind me a bit of the Pilatus PC21 we have some based at a RAAF Base in West Australia used for initial training by the RAAF and the Singapore Airforce as well

And Texan II, obviously. All competitors in the "Do we really need jets against people who don't even have an airforce?" market.

Ospreys used to fly low level over my house in the Yorkshire Dales, often in pairs, sometimes at night. I think somebody (not me) must have complained as their routing suddenly altered to about 500 metres south over open fields and hills, so I'd just catch a glimpse of their starboard wings as they smash the air to pieces with those large rotors. You could hear them coming from quite a distance..well more like you can sense the shock wave before you can really hear them. Its a weird and ever so slightly unsettling sensation. I confess I am missing the Tucanos from Linton and the skies are the quietest I have known them for 35 years.

Loved the pics of the V22 Osprey! An excellent demonstration of its speed advantage over a normal troop carrying helicopter, such as the Chinook (shown later in the video).

I have low level aircraft fly over my house all the time in rural Virginia. Door gunners/crewmen in doors or even on back ramps (C-130, Chinooks and Pave Lows back in the day) will always wave! Good PR!

Got to fly in a Chinook from San Carlos Water to Port Stanley and back in 1982 an that is exactly how they were flying; ground hugging to avoid detection.

Except i think the only way you would avoid detection is to turn the engines off :) Thank you for your service and glad to see you made it back from Falklands!

Interesting, I encountered an Osprey aircraft in a semi hover with the engines rotated over a small lake called Eagle lake near the much lager Lake Tahoe several years ago. Eagle Lake is about the size of the lake in the video, but the terrain is less green with steep granite rock surrounding the lake. It was hard to see what the Osprey was doing as I was in a lodge pole pine forest which partially obstructed my view. Anyway an interesting aircraft, thanks for the vid.

this is what Ospreys were MADE for- taking off vertically, blasting through canyons, and landing vertically. It's a shame they're not so good at actually being USEFUL but they look great at the loop or jedi.

Awsome video. That would be a great place for me to live. All I get here in Sonoma, California, is a lousy flyby of a P-51 and a P-40 every weekend with constant bombardment from Stearman radial engines. I banged my head on the garage door when the P-40 went over.

Silly Q. But what's a Mach Loop?
@martincourtenay-blake57927 жыл бұрын
It's not "a" Mach Loop but "the" Mach Loop. It is a low level training area in Mid/North Wales used by the RAF and other visiting air forces for low level flight training. It is called the Mach Loop because it is near the Welsh town of Machynlleth and has nothing to do with aircraft speed, which is a common error. Super sonic flight is not allowed over the UK mainland because the sonic booms scare the sheep....and everything else.
@JohnSmith-pd1fz7 жыл бұрын
++Edward Hayes Cunningham++ Mach Loop = a valley near the town of Machynlleth in Wales in the UK where shit hot american pilots come to learn low flying techniques.
