I grew up not thinking about famine. You know why? I had enough to eat. Now that I'm older, I realise that just because I have food on my plate, doesn't mean everyone does. Have I created a societal divide along the "hungry/not hungry" line? No, I've simply realised a divide exists that was always there. That is moving forwards, not backwards.

Freedom is overrated it only gives people the option to make the wrong choice... Society is meant to be set up by governing officials who knows what's best for the people and then makes choices for them through law accordingly to conduct order in society and keep the peace! The answer isn't chaos because we lost order, the answer is creating a higher order on top of the order to ensure the governing forces doesn't succumb to the whim of the people and conducts itself in a responsible way by having a higher authority above it to checksum- and we got that in a constitution and our legal system has plenty of outs but it is only as good as the government running it. And the problem is both sides are of the same coin and just as fool-hearted as the other in their own extremes... So replacing one extreme for another and one corrupt party over another and one dysfunctional head over another will not solve the actual problem... Just keep the problem there to fester and acerbate the issues even more- as this seesaw has been doing over the years....

Modern 2 party politics is simple once you notice the pattern. Democrats are pushing progressive social idpol, and economic policy that benefits their overlords. Who are the democrats overlords? Wall street/banks and some service based corporation that deal more in information than goods (Google, Facebook, and previously twitter). Republicans are pushing a traditionalist social idol and economic policy that benefits their republican overlords. Generally corporations that create goods/ manufacturing. Natural recource extraction, industrial farming, whatever heavy manufacturing still exists, etc) Once you figure that out you can decide weather you order your turd sandwich with ketchup or mustard.

Let’s talk about the real reason behind decline of the most basic fundamental unit of society: Family:liberalism is built upon two ideas: maximum freedom and maximum equality. Both of these ideas are erroneous because human behavior has to be restrictaed for the greater good therefore negating maximum freedom. Maximum equality is not possible due to differences in knowledge which establishes hierarchy. We must subjugate ourselves to law of Allah(one/indivisible/self-sufficient/All-loving perfection)) who has totality of data, therefore being the only one that has the right to legislate.

I saw modern times start to raise it's ugly head in the 90s, a teacher telling a class of English kids they were responsible for what went on in Germany in the 40s because they were white. Some of these kids grandparents were listed on war memorials, it was a huge insult. Said teacher was my friend, not after that. The difference between then and now is she was ostracised by most of her friends, wouldn't count on that now.

Agreed. I think it's a result of being the one whom others typically listen to at seminars, discussion groups and on talk shows - he's become enormously popular in the last few years and it's because of his commentary and deep insights on a variety of issues that he's become a much sought after speaker. He's an intelligent man, but I think he knows he's in more intelligent company and tries to match that level of insight and understanding. He used to be a professor (lecturer), so it's almost natural for him to be the one with the answers and understanding. He was probably also excited about the conversation and didn't realize that he was interrupting that much. I think Elon had much more to say than what was ultimately recorded here due to the regular interruptions. Pity.

This was early 2000s. I will say my education was not rigorous at the state schools and the non-tenured professors were worried about their ratings and bad reviews by students. The state schools had more 'instructors' than they did tenured professors. I went to a public high school in 90s, the education was not rigorous and did not prepare me well for the world. Have you heard of the concept of a false sense of security? You're losing to the weakest political and cultural opponent in all of history: what you call "liberals". Because you polish and cock your gun in your minds, thinking "I'll be okay", which ultimately just leaves you impotent and apathetic. Sure, you may vote, but that's nothing compared to the small effort the "liberals" put in. That's why you lose, and in the long-term will absolutely lose. You brag and are loud, but ultimately you're just a vote during the presidential election. You're in the eyes of the enemy relatively harmless. The following is from a 1954 political science textbook: How to overturn a democracy 1. Divide the nation philosophically. 2. Foment racial strife. 3. Cause distrust of police authority. 4. Swarm the nation's borders indiscriminately and unconstitutionally. 5. Engender the military strength to weaken it. 6. Overburden citizens with more unfair taxation. 7. Encourage civil rioting and discourage accountability for all crimes. 8. Control all balloting. 9. Control all media. I think this totally shows us the Democratic game plan.

I get asked all the time why i would vote for a party that would silence me, the answer is simple: because the left of today will only get more radicalized as time goes by and that radicalization will lead to lgbt rights going backwards tomorrow. The painful reality is the struggle: the one party who fought for my rights to exist, vs the other party with common sense and a plan that works for everyone. My evolution on the 2nd amendment is what started my "transition" from the democrats. I was always somewhat pro gun but I thought guns should be heavily regulated, and as cringy as it is I used to be that guy who would say the classic "no one NEEDS an AR-15". But gradually i became more informed on current and historical government incompetence, abuse, and atrocities. I learned about the democide of 260 million citizens in the 20th century alone. I learned that nominally China and Russia both have "freedom of speech" but I came to realize that none of our rights are worth the paper they are written on without a mechanism of protection giving the PEOPLE teeth. I learned how many democracies in history failed and fell into tyranny and despotism. I learned from my military experience in the middle east that, although success is not certain, a determined and popularly supported insurgency armed with little more than rifles and homemade improvised explosives could successfully repulse a superpower. That was the first domino to fall. Then i saw the ridiculousness of identity politics, the affinity for collectivism and Marxism, the assault on meritocracy and our freedoms.

You should continue your education though, using cold hard logic and facts, rather than your feelings. Here are some interesting facts you might keep in mind: 1. The average Trump voter is, in fact, a Mitt Romney voter, John McCain voter, and George W. Bush voter. It is mathematically impossible for it to be any other way. 2. No Republican President or Congress within your lifetime has ever reduced the national debt or even government spending from the prior year. It's literally never happened before. 3. Both parties have controlled both Houses of Congress and the White House within your lifetime. Anything they claim is because of "the other side" is simply not true. They could have passed anything they campaigned on, such as reducing government spending, but simply didn't. 4. Every war within your lifetime has enjoyed widespread bipartisan support, without exception. From Iraq to Ukraine, war and militarism is a bipartisan consensus. It is only after they turn into quagmires that the support begins to erode, but initially, there is always great enthusiasm from both parties (and the voters themselves). 5. Most of the tools used to spy on the Trump campaign were enthusiastically supported by Republicans. People warned at the time that these powers would be used against ordinary Americans, but nobody listened. That was "liberal propaganda" at the time. Republicans have not demonstrated ANY ability whatsoever to reduce government spending, war, or reigning in government overreach. They campaign on these things, but when we examine the actual record, we find that they literally do the opposite. There is simply no reason at all to believe Trump is any different. He campaigned on ending the Afghanistan War and yet stayed there the entire 4 years. He invaded sent troops to Syria who are still occupying to this day, right here and right now, totally vulnerable and open to attack.
@quietus13

@@persuadedbyadhom Yes you are correct that both parties are pretty equally terrible in many ways. But one is aggressively trying to curtail gun rights and criminalize law abiding citizens who just want to secure themselves and their families, while the other is protecting them. One is also pushing a toxic agenda of division, racism, and collectivism while the other is supporting a meritocracy. Classical liberals, Libertarians and libertarian leaning republicans were always aghast at the Patriot act. Both parties have been very guilty of pushing government power and then getting upset when the other party gets control and then uses and abuses that very same power. That's why the government should be much less powerful and influential, so that it can be less exploited by the party in power and why our constitutional rights are so important to protect, especially the 2A which is the key for the people to keep them.

@@paigegray3324 But for love and kindness to thrive, you still need protectors wielding force. In this world, there are those who don't value love and kindness. They see it as a weakness in others, to exploit to their advantage. While you shower your entourage with love and kindness indiscriminately, they exploit your "weaknesses" to manipulate you. And in the end, they will harm you and others. Spiritually, this makes you an accomplice. Kind and loving people generally don't seek power. But predators do. And they occupy most positions of power. Don't neglect next time to put in power loving and caring people, who know that force is necessary to deal with predators.

As an outsider, I just look at the stats. Was the economy better under Trump? Yes. Was the country safer with the tight border security under Trump? Yes. With foreign politics and trade - who would you feel more comfortable with dealing with the Putins and Xi Jinpings - Trump or Harris? Ofcourse the answer would be Trump. If you are on the fence at the moment, voting Republican should be a no brainer come November. America is rotting at the moment because of the Democrats

@@oxrjbizzle1984y "while america leads the world in virtually every category" You've got that right. Firearm related death rate per 100,000: US 3.01, NZ 0.19. Covid deaths per million: 3,642, NZ 1,163. Cumulative excess deaths over the course of the pandemic per 100,000: US 434, NZ 19. Notes: (1) I had to exclude 2019 from the firearms related death toll because one mass Mosque shooting by an Australian using an assault rifle raised the rate from 0.19 to 1.23. Result: Assault rifles were banned a few weeks later. (2) Cumulative excess deaths is a much more reliable indicator than straight covid deaths, ie because of the different definition of what constitutes a "covid death". (2) My original comment about Nats seems to have been deleted. I wonder why and by whom. Perhaps by somebody who can't handle the truth. If so, I doubt that this comment will last long either.

as a millennial/gen z (1995-1996) i went from a color blind, face discrimination for being autistic, with no voice or representation, and being raised by a single mother in severe poverty. To a world dictated to by group identity, me being told how evil and simultaneously privileged I am for being male and white, my religious views being persecuted, my once commonly held love for the monarchy being demonized, and what little voice that I never really had being taken from me. I was never represented or supported before, but now? My mere existence makes me the boogeyman and cause of the worlds problems, even though my ancestors were oppressed, enslaved, and shipped out like convicts. Jordan Peterson and Elon Musk remain some of the few voices of reason left in this mad fucken world.
