Some people cannot do that such as over seas expats (anyone traveling), elderly or disabled that do not drive. I requested early voting via mail because I thought I’d be out of state for election. Instead I was not there to use early mail in ballot so will be there in person, but that’s an example due to travel.

As a Canadian I am very skeptical about mail-in ballots due what occurred in our last election that well after-the-fact it was reported "due to late arrival, many over seas ballots were not included in the final count" with no thorough explanation as to why they were late in the first place not to mention the story was basically buried by main-stream media whom at the time favoured the winning party (and still does) who was in power at that time and who only won with a slight majority. With that said; as a result it is doubtful to this day that many Canadians ever heard about it.

My state has had one day voting with government issued photo ID for at least the last 8 years. Yes, there are bypasses for absentee voting or early voting with documentation of why you can't vote on election day, but they are few and not easy. There is no reason this shouldn't happen in every state!

There are a couple thousand non-residents that go to Franklin & Marshall College (in Lancaster, PA) that cast their ballots in Lancaster. While this may be legal, i.e. students registering where they attend college v. where they reside, it should be looked at -- it's tough to justify the privileged vote coming from NY and NJ meddling in PA's small city elections.
