I applied for the Chase Ink Business Cash Card -- the representative SURPRISINGLY was candid about the 5/24 rule! Sure, I was denied for the credit card but that seems normal with the Chase application rules for cards like Chase Ink Cash. Some people are able to beat the 5/24 rule, but I wasn't one of them, sadly.

Dangggg, that sucks Dugroz! Sorry to hear that. Yes the business structure is odd, as far as I’ve learned, once the business is 1+ years old, you’re good to go. Those other 2 reasons are just automatic, you never really get just 1 issue. The main thing is 5/24. That really sucks, sometimes you can call recon again and ask if they can close cards or move limits around to get around it I’ve seen, but who knows. Worth a shot I think either way, and you got a video out of it!

That was educational and fun to watch. Thank you! I opened a chase business checking account recently so i will be testing it out to get the CIC but when I’m under 5/24 this year. Since the Rep openly admitted it’s a rule 😂. But I want to test that cobranded card theory later too because i would like to get the world of hyatt personal card later.

All of the people that have gotten pass the 5/24 had elevated spend on their business cards and/or had a banking relation. I do not think applying again without any of those would help. If you open a checking and/or saving account with Chase make sure it's funded. The only time I beat the 5/24 was back in Sept/2016 when I opened a checking account in branch and was automatically approved for the new Sapphire Reserve card, I was just opening the account to apply again later for the CSR, I had no idea I was going to be offered it that same day. Applying in branch doesn't get you approved past 5/24 any more, but it helps with contacting the underwriters and getting more of a sub.

I was over 5/24 last summer. Tried to get the personal Marriott chase card. I was denied. I was able to get some other personal and business cards from other issuers after that. I think you should wait before you try again. Your call though.

Wow this was a blow. I was pulling for you to get the card. If I was in your shoes I’d focus on the cashback or maybe try to get that $15K spend on the Surpass for the FNC while gardening. I personally don’t like the idea of pursuing the Marriott/Ritz card but totally get why you and others would pursue.

Back in early 2023 I got a ink card over 5/24 but the last 2 applications I was denied at 6/24. I called recon and after 2 calls the lady told me business structure is just BS reason and the only thing that mattered was 5/24.

I am exactly at 5/24 will be under in June and October 3/24 in 2024. Gardening & steady does it. Sometimes you have to pull the breaks. I might not pull the trigger on any new applications this year.

I have the a lot of personal Chase cards like Chase freedom, unlimited, flex and sapphire preferred, I wanted the Chase ink unlimited, my data in the past 24 months I opened 6 credit cards 2 in 2022 and 4 in 2023, I also was denied the same reason you was denied 5/24, I opened a Chase business checking account had the checking for a few months now and I will be 4/24 in September 2024 so I will apply again as soon Chase has the 90k offer again, I probably going to apply in Jan 2025 because currently doing a 12 month $15k spend on my Amex blue business plus card, I seen multiple credit card KZbin channel getting approved well over 5/24, So I don’t understand how?

I'm sure there are other behind-the-scenes factors other than JUST 5/24, but it is a big factor. Not sure I know any more!

I applied for the same card 2 days after getting below 5 / 24 and was denied. Called reconsideration and told them I had 2 auth user cards on my CBR that makes it look like I am over 5 / 24 and then got approved! P2 40k referral to boot!

I thought the 5/24 rule applied separately for the Personal versus the Business line of Chase Cards. For instance, you can be at 4/24, get a Chase Ink Business Cash Card and still sit at 4/24. Is this no longer the case?

@@gavannoelles6389 You are correct, if I follow you. Business cards do not add to 5-24, but the traditional understanding is that being over 5-24 will prevent you from getting one. At the time of the video, I was over 5-24, and still am.. thanks, Gavan!.

Ya the yters who get approved above 5/24 are the exceptions instead of the norm. I don’t even chance it with chase. They are too picky about that. I have to wait until summer of 2025 before i can apply for another chase card ☹️

@@DugrozReports at 7/24 in May, I was approved for Chase Sapphire Preferred. At 9/24 in November, I was approved for Chase Ink Cash. At 9/24 I also simultaneously or very closely (same week) was approved for USBAR, Autograph, AND BILT.

In that same November window (stacking applications), I was approved for US Bank Altitude Reserve, Wells Fargo Autograph, BILT card, and Charles Schwab Amex Plat.

I felt that way too at first, but 5/24 has actually force me to take a hard and honest look at all my cards. I can honestly say, I am more strategic when applying for cards now, it has to make long term sense. I have been at 2/24 to 3/24 for the last 3yrs and it feels great not to have to rush to get every new credit card without carefully seeing how it fits into my game plan. I deal with primarily two and a half ecosystems and it's a lot more organized.
