As stated below, use the stiff end of an old lvds cable to cut thru the glue (as per the official Samsung service bulletins ! ) but does work really well, and no sticky card to clean up later ;-) HTH

Phillips has sold all of its consumer electronics divisions, so whatever we get under name of brand Phillips is worth landfill... I feel sad for a brand which had created a reputation.

Yes still have a high end crt 32 inch widescreen from 2001, it’s massive and refuses to die. At least it had plenty of all the connections of then, so the tv 📺 is still useable via a set top box. Quality is fabulous and well built, but it was obvious to me that when they ended crt TV’s they were on the exit from consumer electronics, the led backlight was the only thing Philips were bringing to the party 🎈 which wasn’t something of interest to me.

Cracking a screen would be like a rejection from a girl you adored, it's not easy face it again and you won't be as cocky either moving forward.

I did an emergency repair this week in a customer house. 2 year old samsung 8k tv and picture was jumping and as with most samsung tvs the problem was the screen. so the customer had a choice he either buys a new tv or i fix with blocking the clock signal he chose the blocking of the clock signal and i charged him £50. I normally use old lvds cables to take the screens out there thin and flexible but strong. The newer oled philips are quite nice sets. And 😂😂😂😂😂 always check your voltages but yes I agree philips are always back lights

I love your videos Allen. I never thought that watching a TV being repaired would be so interesting! Please tell me what the flashing coloured LEDs are that are reflected on the screen? Don't you find that irritating?
@Rollin-Rant19 күн бұрын
What about spraying isopropyl alcohol in the glued area between the screen and the metal back. I haven't tried this but it might save your business cards. Thanks Allen for the most entertaining video and here's wishing you a great Christmas and a very Happy new year 👍

When Covid restrictions first started a nurse on my old ward ( pre retirement) chipped a tooth, which led to an abscess. Took him 6 weeks to find a dentist that didn’t want less than £800 to treat it. Still ended up costing him over £700.😲😲😲

I have a few issues with this brand. They seem to go out of their way to make their products:- 1. As counter-intuitive to use as possible; 2. As incompatible as possible with every other manufacturer's product you connect them to; 3. With the most pointless features, ambilights being a prime example. Can you tell I dislike the brand? 🤔

+1 from me. Philips have always had an odd way of doing things, which doesn't always translate to user friendly or reliable. TBF though I bought an early TPV produced Philips 22" LCD for bedroom use about 7 years ago - it's now in my daughter's bedroom and still going strong. Was a cheap set and had it expired after 3 years it would have been junked.

Unfortunately the use of certain words in the thumbnail and/or video could get your video demonitised by KZbin "as being not suitable for all advertisers, and therefore may run low or no adverts". It's happened to another KZbinr I subscribe to, so now he has to be a lot more careful.

@ but I believe Philips still make medical CRT for specialist applications ??

@@drmindbender8616 The oscilloscope tube division was sold in 1994 and closed in 2012. 'Philips' medical equipment is made by an American company which Philips purchased more recently.

Would it help with undoing the screen by using a hairdryer to warm and soften the glue a little before using a card etc
@JonnyMac35119 күн бұрын
I would check the power supply for faults these are not too difficult to fault find.

Philips must have had a big investment in a company that makes screws. (Philips Head??)
@NTSCuser19 күн бұрын
The screws are named 'Phillips-head' (two Ls), after Henry Frank Phillips. He was no relation to Gerard Philips (one L).
