I wanna know how strong he is! There’s not really any footage of him training or showing his true physical limit unless it’s on the wall, which is pretty hard to gauge from looking at a screen. On screen v17 looks like v10 but in reality, I wouldn’t even be able to hang on these holds

Recently listened to an episode of the Nugget Climbing Podcast comparing the differences and similarities between climbing style and approach to projecting between Shawn and Aidan. i know a kid who is like 8 months into climbing and is only one grade lower than me, he goes to the gym almost every day. I think its mostly a question effort. Of course to climb high level you need great physicallity but for starters its most important to keep at it, if possible going as much as you can, everything is hard at first. Keep going my guy :D

It seemed to me the difference was where Shawn was holding his torso. Aiden's was lower right, I think, so when he made the move, his torso stayed mostly stationary. When Shawn made the move, his torso would swing through and take him right off the wall. Not that I am anyone to tell a V17 climber what to do, but just my observation.

It's spectacular to watch an incredible climber who actually loves the sport. Usually pros are so angry, so frustrated, yelling, freaking out... It's clear that Shawn actually enjoys projecting. He enjoys failing as much as he enjoys sending. Shawn makes me want to project myself differently at the crag... Maybe one day everyone can embody Raboutou.
