Thank you for sharing about Michaels journey. Recovery is a long road, but the program works if you work it. My sibling struggled with many years of addiction and there were many times when we didn’t know if she was going to make it out. With the help of recovery and a lot of hard work she prevailed. She is now becoming a life coach to help others on their road to recovery! Give yourself grace, keep your boundaries strong, practice self love, and know that a higher power is watching over your family and guiding your son in the right direction. He can do this! One day at a time. ♥️

Thank you so much for sharing about problems in your family, and the struggles. I think mental health & substance issues are too frequently not discussed, or dismissed, or people are ashamed of but it’s time people speak out about the problems from every angle. A lot of people look down on people with addiction issues, they tend to forget theirs a family usually affected also. My sister in law recently passed away from an overdose and I know a lot of us tried to deny what was going on. But when it happened my oldest (7) had a million questions and I know a lot of people didn’t agree with how I handled, but I told her the truth in a way she could at least try to understand. I also struggled with addiction, I have now been clean for over 7 years but one of the hardest things was my mom denying it, and feeling it was just something you can stop. She also felt since it stemmed from my mental health issues, that you just “get over” things and “move on”. It’s great that you are so supportive and not ashamed. He is extremely lucky to have you. I hope he realizes that, if not now he will one day. Hugs and prayers

I feel for you about your son. Addiction is terrible. The struggle, knowing there is nothing you can do but watch the destruction, is soul crushing. I watched what it did to my dad. Hugs to you and your son.

Sending lots of love and prayers your way. I wont get into details, but addiction has been apart of our life for ten years now, we are FINALLY starting to see some light at the end if tunnel. Great video! I’m sorry to hear about your son Michael...addiction is real... My late husband’s sons(stepsons) have addiction problems, and my first husband was an alcoholic...it’s not easy... I was also thinking your tiredness is thyroid related also... Thank you for sharing...

Maybe your tiredness has something to do with the thyroid, so perhaps make the endocrinologist appointment after all? Just a thought. Sending your family positive vibes and light during this time with your son. As moms we always want to fix our kids problems, but we know we can't, so it's frustrating. Glad he has asked for help. Keeping Michael, you and the girls in my thoughts and prayers, because it effects all of you. Extreme fatigue, mental cloudiness, mood swings, thinning/loss of hair and eyebrows, digestion issues, are all symptoms of thyroid issues. I brought them up with my GP and he did a simple blood test in his office and sure enough I have hypothyroidism, which is controlled wonderfully with one little pill I take each day. All the symptoms cleared right up. You might not even need a trip to the Endocrinologist. :) And finally HUGE YAY for making those phone calls!!!! Isn't it silly how we torture ourselves with guilt over not doing something that is so quick and simple to handle? I'm totally in that club. I'll send you a membership card ;-)

Just a thought on the big circle sticker you kinda messed up on...... Maybe next time cut off the laundr part and stick the rest onto the side of the box and layer another sticker on top? Or something similar since it was a huge sticker lol

Book your mammogram. It’s too important to put it off. I had no symptoms and they found my cancer with a routine mammogram. Do it for the people that love you

That’s exactly how I was diagnosed, too - no lumps, no symptoms, and it showed up on the mammogram. I’ve become an unofficial spokeswoman for mammograms! Scrappingjenny, I hope you’re doing well, pink sister!
