This is one of the many reasons people have respect for Diz, his stance on anything that would be deemed unpopular is his courage! Mook gets an undeserved title, it's true. How can we declare a non fighting champion? A champion defends his title for those deemed worthy and there are plenty of worthy contenders, with Diz on the top 3. Battle rap community needs to stop giving Mook a pass and pressure him into battling. Disaster was coming off as a hater where he should have been "critical" in his observation... State the facts and leave out his personal opinion on the battler.. However.. Disaster was correct 90% of the time ... Mook had some heat but wasn't that impressive ... His energy and the hyaenas behind him made that room feel ALIVE especially with those "dot on ya...dot on ya..." The battle ended with the highest energy possible and with gun bars.. Which at that time was "better" if you were a "real" one. I use to go back and forth with my people about who won... Still a classic.. Hollow is much cleaner than Dizaster and maybe in a point system Hollow would edge. But Dizaster's strong point in freestyles are flips, he's not too bad at the rest but that's his forefront skill. This was the first battle I ever watched, it was on S.M.A.C.K. DVD. Think that was in like 2006 or 2007. I remember thinking that Serius Jones won the battle easily back then, but I also didn't have much knowledge about rap battles back then. The battle is a lot harder to call nowadays, knowing a lot more, and understanding a lot more of the bars and the meanings behind the lines. I thought this was all freestyle when I first watched it too. I know better now.
