They told us we should have been saving for times like this and there will be no stopping rent but they will stop them from evicting you but after the lockdown is over you have to pay rent in full or move out

All we really know at this moment is that if you are unable to pay your rent for the next 3 months you can not be evicted by your landlord. So, for the next 3 months you do not need to make paying the rent a priority and can make food, and other essential items such as electric, water the priority. Whether the rent for those 3 months will come due at the end of that time remains to be seen. That said, the federal government has promised to get a significant amount of cash into the hands of all Americans who make less than $70,000 a year. If need be that money could be used to pay any rent if and when it becomes due. Also if you have children you will receive additional cash from the federal government for each individual child. SAFETY, PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES. So Mr Cuomo doing to help curb the virus pan-demic. Is he a "pied piper" of New York? Lets do the math. A pied piper fully aware that more than million rats/cockroaches dwell the city to spread the disease. Videos like mouse towing a pizza along a street/ living in subways / having feast in NY kitchens/garbage dumps - well maybe someone had seen China included fumigating/disinfecting their buildings and sewers. This comment is just for awareness and NOT INTENDED to propagate fear. Lets do the science. It is always seen cleanliness is one way of being healthy. This governor is a great guy I must say. I find it strange that he has to plea for help from clothing companies and stuff. My country (Slovakia) has MANY problems, much more and bigger than any state in US, but after the first cases within days the companies stepped up tremendously, even regular people with sewing machines hearing about the shortage of masks started sewing and now practically everyone has its own homemade mask, funny colours and all, all senior home residents and their carers received them for free from companies, head of towns and so on, yes they are less effective then surgical masks but since there is a shortage, people having their own washable ones leaves every surgical mask available for health care. One bank even announced you can delay your payments 1-6 months immediately and bought lung ventilations to support the hospitals. Phone operators gave channels for kids and premiums for free, increasing speed and data limits for free. All closed businesses reprofiled as deliveries within days. We have senior citizens hotline of they need help or food. Our government managed to get surgical masks and quick tests from China the plane specially for that flew to China and it's already delivered. Another supplies will be here tomorrow with special N95 masks (or FFP2 and FFP3) and all protective gear. We are in between old and new government and fortunately they are trying to outdo each other in the measures and help. Me myself I made 5 masks already for me and my friends and everybody is at home for more than a week to slow the spread down. We are bracing ourselves for the impact but the solidarity here is so huge right now it brings me to tears to think about it. All of us here know our health care system is in crumbles even without the virus and it's what keeps us responsible.

Why they consider people who help elderly, home attendance, to be essential workers!? These old people have their relatives and in such situations children should take care of their relatives not hiding and exposing others to danger. So, these low paid workers have to travel to these people’s homes to do shopping for them! My sister have to go 3 times today to shop for her client, women that have a son, exposing herself and this elderly women as well. This is crazy!
