Mental health is health and a critical element in overall healthcare. Mental health conditions now account for nearly a quarter of all maternal deaths in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, mental health conditions now account for nearly a quarter of all maternal deaths in the United States, and one in eight new moms experiences postpartum depression.
Postpartum depression is a health condition that can occur up to 1 year after having a baby, but most commonly starts 1-3 weeks after childbirth. It is often characterized as strong feelings of sadness and anxiety. Moms may also experience a loss of appetite, insomnia, and difficulty bonding with their baby.
Why is postpartum depression so often undiagnosed? What can be done to prioritize action to create a better future for moms, babies, and families?
The Hill will convene administration officials, lawmakers, maternal mental health advocates, and medical experts to discuss America’s maternal mental health crisis and how to fix it.

I'm so glad people are finally seeing this huge issue and are working to resolve it. It is soooo difficult for those of us who have no family or family that doesn't want to help. They expect the world out of moms and there isn't a lot of help for them. Kudos to these women trying to make it better. ❤

Reported for transphobic position of Mom mental health for birth while Dads can also give birth. Also This sounds more like a state issue (ones that restrict abortion) The states that are more pro choice this is a choice.
