I'm a 4⁰ cancer rising, and have Mars 3⁰ Capricorn and Jupiter 5⁰ in Capricorn. Here goes my "dominant" opinion about this. Lol... This is a very karmic position in a chart. When I watch these videos, I notice that one astrologer will claim that the native will be the dominant one, another astrologer will claim that the partner will actually be the dominant one and the native will be weak. Here is my take on it.... Mars in the 7th creates a teeter totter affect. Or the scales like libra, always trying to balance everything. I myself, feel like I am a very peaceful and calm person. I'm a cancer rising, moon in pisces person. I used to give my power away. As a child, I was bullied all the time. As a grown woman, I attracted very "alpha" type males. I was in a 7 year custody battle for my daughter with a very Mars dominant man, ex boxer, body builder, workaholic guy (my ex). He always claimed I was the "aggressive one"- what?!?!? It wasn't until I started to own mars, take ownership of it, stop giving my power away to bullies, stop blaming others, that I noticed that the Mars belonged to me this entire time. I don't do well with passive people. Even my nice friends are very much involved in advocacy work in their community or fighting for justice for the world in one way or another. The more action oriented they are, the more I feel I can be passive and sit back. The more passive people are, the more I take initiative.

Reading your reply has been incredibly helpful to me. So if you have a Cancer Assendant, that means that you have Capricorn in the seventh house? I can see what you are referring to when you say this placement is like being on a teeter totter. It sounds familiar to me. I have mars in Aries in the seventh conjoined Saturn. I could describe my husband of 27 years to be passive aggressive when we first met. This caused a lot of friction between us. our marriage has completely transformed over the years and is much healthier these days. but years ago, I always felt as if I had to confront him in order to get him to make a move. I was always on edge with him, feeling as if I had to defend myself at any given moment. In my work environment, I have a tendency to stand back and listen to what others have to say first. If I get the impression that there is a dominant person running a meeting, I will stand aside. But when I am called upon to take action, I have no problem, taking over and taking charge. this has always surprised others. that libra ascendant in me is always thinking of succumbing to others. I really needed to read your response here. It’s bringing so much clarity to my mind. I never knew how to fully describe my own situation with my seventh house placement. thank you for your insight.

Why? to please who? People have to be natural and they are allowed to talk freely about anything if they don’t infringe on other peoples things. You shouldn’t ask such a thing, it is enough that you do what you believe but why would others be required to.
