Great looking piece, a classic from IWC, looks perfect on the wrist. I am sure you may be aware of this, but I would always advance the time well past midnight before adjusting the date. The last thing you want to do is damage the mechanism on your 5 figure watch.

Your quite well made video made me consider adding this IWC to my collection. How many hours can the automatic mechanism charge up the movement per 8 hours of wear? Can it keep up to full 7 day power reserve without additional hand winding? Also, does in practice the thickness of the case become a comfort problem to you. The proportions of the case look good on your wrist, but I wonder if the weight of the case is encumbering.

Hi, thank you for watching. Wearing the watch regularly for 8 hours should mean you won’t need to manually wind it. Not sure of the exact hours. A full wind without wearing last for 7 days so you can easily do weekend to weekend. The thickness gives the watch presence. As it is stainless, it doesn’t really have heft, due to the leather strap. Would recommend if possible to try in person. It’s still my ‘go to’ watch today after 4 years.

@@Zeeraha most welcome. The accuracy is fine even with power reserve at low point as it has two barrels. Only time i have noticed running a little faster is now (after 4 years) which means it is due for a service which is expected. Apart from that I would highly recommend it

It’s nice, a much more dressy range by IWC. I like how the Portuguese and Pilot are quite substantial and definitely my preference for IWC

I was going to get this watch in white. But then the 40mm came out. What are your thoughts on that? With the 40mm I think I prefer the blue dial🤔

The 40mm is really nice as well. Case size is a little thinner and yes the blue dial is the best of the lot. You certainly won’t be disappointed.
