Who knows what happens behind closed doors. Not sure of the truth of the statement "I haven't ever taken any money from the club". RM has been a very successful property entrepreneur but the SUFC has seemingly supported him with a record 53 charges Registered against The Southend United Football Club Ltd? Its a pity there was no financial journalist invited to the 'show'. For instance will the ordinary shareholders (the fans) who purchased shares in the company see a return when it is sold? The company according to the last accounts filed for the 2019 year had a deficit of c £17m. The main shareholder of SUFC was also heavily in debt? The list of companies is mind boggling? There is no definitive detailed list of assets available which shows what assets are actually owned by the club? Which leads to the question what is actually for sale?

This guy has almost totally, completely, and utterly, killed this club. I'm not a Southend fan (Millwall, of course) and for this guy to sit here, albeit delivering apparent good news, after he's almost entirely responsible for the dire situation the club faces, and the obvious fact that the fans hate him, is something. As usual, the old ground will be scrapped and some awful plastic rubbish will be erected, backed by foreign money (aka "institutional funders" ) and the fans will be sold short, charged more, ripped off, and eventually ignored.
