I was almost a Chicago firefighter paramedic back in the mid 1980’s but I couldn’t take it because I found it too hard I ended up at a smaller suburban chicago department that I retired from in the end of July 2017 aug 2020 update back in service march 2020 due to corona virus

Like 95% of America's fire departments, it takes a horrific work ethic and a childish attitude toward exposing themselves to unnecessary danger. That attitude starts from the Chief on down to the newest recruit. Anybody with the correct attitude and work ethic will be so overwhelmed with the irresponsibility around them, they will have to quit or suffer from depression.
