Im from Germany,and when I was a teenager,we barely could watch any baseball here. Just a recorded game once in a while. So my first games were the Oakland A‘s with the Bash Brothers,and they became my team. I’m sorry that you lose the A‘s,I never thought this would be possible. MLB should have forced Fisher to sell,and owners should be responsible for building their stadiums as well. They are billionaires,and want to make money. Well,invest! I'm not even an A's fan, but this broke my heart. How could John Fisher do this to these people that have supported the Athletics for 50+ years and look himself in the mirror? When I worked in downtown SF in the 90s I was a huge baseball fan and I would often go to A's games. What was crazy is that the Coliseum was closer to downtown SF than Candlestick. I worked in finance so work ended by 3 usually, so I could beat the traffic and skip over and watch the Yankees, Sox, Blue Jays. Watching an A's game before Mount Davis was always a wonderful evening, unlike games at the Stick.

My father took me to my first world series game in 1973 the A's were playing the New York Mets. We went on to win 3 consecutive world series championships!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yankee fan here. That owner is done. Too many people hurt by this. Oakland A's are such a big part of baseball. The next 4 years are going to be hell. It is sad the Oakland - Yankees games are done. The Yankees fans always packed that stadium. As for Sac though, that is A's territory. They will sell out every game. In fact, I predict they will do so well, that the A's find a way to stay there and build a small 30K stadium like Wrigley.

I live in Sacramento and we do care about baseball and sports in general. We tried really hard to get a MLS team and had it in our grasps! But the main guy behind getting a team left and now we won’t get a soccer team. We are just happy to watch a major league sports team even if it’s temporary. I’m a Yankees fan and hope to watch them play the A’s. Did you know Judge was born in Sacramento? West Sacramento is much safer than Oakland, so it’s good for the team to leave the unsafe and dangerous Oakland area

As a Mets fan, Sad for me to see the A’s last games in the coliseum. That was my first World Series, watching in 1973. & seeing my Mets lose in game 7 at Oakland. I was still 7 (not 8 until that November) but I remember that series. Especially the last game.

Despite being a Giants Fan, I stand in solidarity with A’s fans as I know that this is truly a sad day for you all. However, if the City of Oakland had better leadership and the A’s owners including the owners of the other two teams that left weren’t too stubborn, the Coliseum City Proposal which involved redeveloping the entire area into a mixed-use neighborhood which would have included a new stadium should have been built instead considering the fact that the site is well served by transit including easy freeway access should have been approved and built. I do also believe that the A’s departure is likely going to increase the support to recall the Mayor of Oakland, and I won’t be that surprised if it does in fact happen.

I'm a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan but my heart breaks for Oakland, I remember all the great players they had over the years and of course who can forget the 1990 World Series Oakland had so much talent on that team, I couldn't imagine losing my home team like that I would honestly be devastated.....when I collected baseball cards in the 80's I always liked the A's cards cause the uniforms were cool and I loved pulling a Mcguire, Henderson or Caneseco card...

It was great to see this great crowd coming out to see the A's last game in Oakland. But where was their support for this team previously? For years before this last game, the A's were last in attendance, averaging about 11.5k per game. Last year they averaged a little over 10K per game and in 2022 they did not even average 10K per game. Maybe if the team had more support from the fans, they would still be in Oakland.

Fisher is the LAST person to finally give up, after massive losses, and take his professional team out of Oakland. He was the last team still in the room, hoping beyond hope that voters would stop choosing Marxist activists to lead Oakland. Keep in mind, we're talking about the only location in the world to have an In-N-Out permanently close, ever, one of the most successful businesses in the world. Even they could not survive in Oakland. Oakland criticizing Fisher for leaving is like hearing an abusive husband criticize his wife for leaving with two black eyes. And yes, it is true: corporations will leave if they cannot operate with a profit. On a micro level, would you keep working for an employer who every Friday came to you and said, "Actually, I'm gonna have to ask you to give US some money this week... yeah..." The analogy of a corporation and a city is apt, because the corporation is there to work for the city, in the hopes that the city will like what they do, and give them money for it. That is how commerce has worked since the dawn of time. It's a brand new weird idea that corporations should operate at a loss and thank the city for that opportunity. Brand new.
