I have an Air2s and an Avata. For taking great cinematic shots - reveals, pans, trucking along side a vehicle, etc. the Air 2s is great. For flying through trees, diving following skiers, bikes, etc. the Avata is crazy fun as is just ripping around and flying without filming at all. I've never taken the Air 2s out for a good rip to just fly, but i do with the Avata all the time.

Such a damn good honest comparison. Plus he's a jacked Swedish dude with a chill personality. This man knows what he's talking about! My wife's buying me a drone for our 10th wedding anniversary gift and I've been so on the fence with what to get. Pretty sure I know now. Especially with kids and vacations it's gotta be the Mini 3 pro.

And if you are starting with fpv drones, don't go with the DJI remote, go with someting like the Radiomaster TX16. With this remote you can chose a lot of radio link options.

love this comparison! I think a big edge for the geprc mark 5 is that for people who are mechanically inclined and willing to take the time to do the research and learn, the cost for being able to repair those fpv drones yourself is a huge benefit over the avata. even though the avata is built like a tank, if it does break, it’s very hard to repair it yourself vs “regular” fpv drones where you can easily swap out parts for a much cheaper price. keep up the awesome content!

Agreed. And buying another drone to add more variety to your shots, just cost you around $400/500 extra (lets say a cinewhoop). All the other parts can easily be reused (which isnt the case for the DJI drones).

My friend you NAILED IT ! That’s exactly the scenario I’m in. I have the Avata and I enjoy flying fpv and would like to get a quad , however like you said , shot wise to be usable is a bit limited & now I’m starting to get into travel content etc. which is why I bought the mini 3 pro and now not only can I use 99% of the shots but I can also sell them for stock footage and a bunch of other benefits like picture etc. anyways BRAVO ! Explained it very well

I always recommend new drone flyers to buy the DJI mini 2 since they are very cheap and easy to learn on. You can buy them new for under $500, and used for much less. I’ve got a mavic 2 pro, inspire 2, and recently I got a mini 3 pro and will be buying an avata setup next. Since buying the mini 3, I’ve been using that and the inspire the most.

Great video! The one thing no one ever mentions is flying a reg. Drone with fpv goggles? Ive been flying for 6 years using my phone in either split screen goggles or the drone mask. Its the best of both worlds to me. Not as fast or acrobatic as a fpv drone but still the fun of being "on board" the drone.its really the closest thing to actual flying ive ever done!

Sadly, it gets harder and more complicated to actually *use* the drone within European countries. You needs various permits, there are many rules and restrictions, you need very often to ask the town / area beforehand before you can fly there, apply for a permit (and different ones depending where you want to fly - country? Mountains? Over lakes or the ocean?) and so on and so on. 😕

Utility wise I think we will start to see FPV more often for certain type of feature films and a lot more for real estate. Especially with Avata for flying indoors with a “low risk” factor.

Anyone new to drones and they are not sure what kind they want to end up using, a mini 2 isn’t going to cost you a fortune, a fly more combo retail is like 600, you can get just drone, controller, and a single battery even cheaper. With a nearly 30 minutes flight time , a single battery is probably enough. Do this before you drop 1500 or 2000 dollars on a drone. If you aren’t going to make a career of it, you are going to get bored with camera drones, unless you just really like video and picks. If you want a drone for occasional flights , vacations and that type of thing, a mini 2 is all you need. You will find all that obstacle avoidance is in the way most of the time. If you learn to fly in atti mode first , no gps, learn to control the drone with no gps first. When you fly gps you will already be way better than many many drone operators out there right now, they lose gps and they aren’t close enough to see their drone clearly, they are toast. Learn to fly atti first, you will make it home everytime the battery allows it. 98 percent of people who want to fly drones won’t have the patients to learn to fly FPV. There are tiny complete set up for fpv drones to just fly around your house, those will show you how hard it actually is to fly fpv and it won’t cost but a couple hundred bucks to see if you want to do it. My first drone was a DJI spark, lol, I crashed that thing so many times I don’t know how it survived in tact, they were rarely easy crashes, I’m talking bounced off the ground knock the battery out of the craft crashes, good luck and stay sub 250 until you know what you want to do long term. That’s the best advice I could give anyone interested. But what do I know?…..lol……I’m nobody……..

Id say if you've never flown drones before decide how interested you actually are. Then buy a somewhat good drone. A bad experience with a super cheap drone can ruin your experience

No such thing as the best. Like saying what's the best car? Every manufactures has pros and cons and good and bad drones. Like he says in the video, it all depend on your needs, how you use it.
