The truth is that I have my Intel and it has worked very well for me, but if this is true, then it is a better option to opt for an AMD so that in the future you do not have problems and the processor does not degrade so quickly.

My first pc had an intel cpu and it did great. My current rig I built from scratch and went with a 5800x. Now I’m on a 7800x3d and will stick with this forever basically. Choosing a gaming CPU has never been easier in years. (its not complicated like this video claims in the first 4 second) New PC (Best) = AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D New PC (Budget) = AMD Ryzen 7 7700 / AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Existing AM4 People = 5700X3D Both AMD 9000 series and Intel Core Ultra 200 are just more power efficient and not much faster from last gen and their price does not justify purchasing them.

I think the problem that has arised is, the technology being used to make the chips has reached its limits, and the speed of the cpu is not really going to get much faster.. it can perhaps be made to run more efficient, but its not really going to get smaller where the transistors are concerned.. now, new technology might change that, and perhaps some level of quantum computing may be the future, I just want a chip which works well and takes advantage of all the cores which it has..

Exactly this, and is exactly what I did. 7600 (PBO enabled), 32 GB/6000MHz, and a 7900 GRE and it destroys anything I play at 1440p ultra. 95% of people would be satisfied with the 7600/X but some think they need a 7800X3D or 14900K when in reality, they wouldn’t have any need for it. Obviously this doesn’t apply at the high end where you’re running a 4080 Super or 4090, but other than that, a 7600/X will give you more than enough headroom to prevent bottlenecks on a large majority of GPUs out there.

Go AM5 all you need is a bios update for newer CPUs that come in AMDs family for the future. If you are an editor and gamer I wouldn’t go lower than the 7900x CPU for editing and gaming. I tried the 7800x3d and it sucked! My 5900x was better than it and I game at 4k and edited videos at 4k & 8k footage. Can somebody explain a couple questions regarding the bios updating process on a new PC build - 1) Do you update your bios on the first boot, or do you install Windows/other OS first, then do bios? 2) If you do bios first, do you have to format a USB flash drive, put the update on it & then your PC just updates automatically when it first starts up? 3) Do bios updates need to be sequential, as in do I need to go back to the very first update, then update with the version after that, and then continue on until the newest one, or do you just start with the most recent one & it'll include everything? Thanks to anyone who can help, I've never updated any bios before despite building 3 PCs the last 15-20 years. I always get scared away when I go to the mobo site & it has warnings that it could ruin my system

CPU has next to no effect to the GPU performance for AMD/Nvidia. Zero, Zilch, Nada. Overall system performance will bring the level up but that is different. You can go from 1080p to 4k and the CPU usage won't change hovering around 50%. It will still do the most basic tasks regardless of resolution/GPU load. Personally if you have any top CPU from last 5 plus year you are good. Only point is if you are using REBAR. Again just like E Cores the gain with REBAR for AMD/Nvidia. Zero, Zilch, Nada. +-5%. But for INTEL ARC architecture things start to change. Alchemist almost doubles it performance with REBAR on enabling the CPU to pair with ARC GPU to configure a two silicon architecture. It worked on AMD CPU but on INTEL CPU we are seeing 20% lift and with every driver update the gap is widening exposing the real potential of the Alchemist optimizing the pairing to INTEL CPU. So lets take a step forward. X870 and Z890 boards will give direct lane PCI 5.0 to the CPU that you might want to call "REBAR on steroids". Now you can call this as true dual silicon performance/architecture for INTEL ARC. Hence the early launch for the X870 even that the CPU's are maybe coming 2025 if not at all. In real life this means no queuing or waiting. This means no stutter or broken frames. Comparing performance it means ARC 60FPS is better than 120FPS from AMD/Nvidia for gaming experience without stutter at high resolution/demand. In Wattage it means Arrow Lake 250-295W + Battlemage 250-275W = 500-570W combined power. Wattage in general = performance. AMD CPU would give you 170W max and loose 125W of performance in the worse case. Add to that no queuing and no waiting where every frame is good. 5080 for example 400W standalone card. Then we have the price. 5080 $1200-1500 predicted + Ryzen 9 9950X $650 + X870/Ram $600 = $2450- 2750. Arrow Lake 285K $600 + Battlemage $500 + Z890 board/Ram $600 = $1700. Plus I predict the ARC all INTEL combo will wipe the floor with AMD/Nvidia combo.

@DXcellence718Returns
@DXcellence718Returns Ай бұрын
@PaintrainX Theres a clear reason for that outlier though because those other cpus are dual CCD. Unlike the the single CCD 7800x3d and soon 9800x3d since a CCD can hold up to 8 cores so the 7800x3d chip is fully 3d cache. With the 7900x3d and 7950x3d they couldn't put the 3d cache on both CCDs so only 6 cores have it for the 7900x3d and 8 cores for the 7950x3d. And even so the 7950x3d matches(either on par or slightly below) the 7800x3d for ganing and with better productivity. The 7900x3d is the more failure of the bunch due to the 3d cache being on only 6 cores. 9000 series could change everything if they are able to put the 3d cache on both CCDs instead of one

The Intel Core Ultra processors are neither good or bad compared to the older 13'th and 14'th series processors as performance in games are concerned. They are definitely different though. And no I'm not talking about over clocking at all. That might be great, but personally I can't see the big idea using it on a computer I'm using for anything but stressing benchmarks and nothing else. Over clocking depends on so many details, the chip lottery, the motherboard lottery, the memory lottery and so on. If you are lucky it can improve things greatly, but all these things have to be optimal both in design and in your luck with components used to build them. It's a lottery, don't think otherwise. And when overclocking there will be more risk of burning out the processor so keep those voltages in check or you might be one of the unfortunate ones who will have to buy a new CPU as the old one starts acting up. Back to games performance. So far I have only seen the results that Intel has realesed intended to show that their fastest Core Ultra processor matches the 14900K in games performance. Someone calculated the values they released and in total the new processor was something like 2% slower, but as this was only something like 12 games tested that really don't mean a lot. Something that was more interesting was the games results. The four games losing performance more than 7% was all action games with 3D graphics while the three games gaining more than 6% performance were all turn based strategy games. One game, Total War: Warhammer something, gained something like 20% if I remember correctly. It was certainly the game that changed the most of all those that Intel listed and without that the total performance numbers shrank quite a bit. Now better performance in strategy games is great, if you think these games are way to slow at running the computers turn. Generally I don't feel that is a huge problem, but I do suffer in action games when performance dropps. This really don't say anything about other games not in the list or about future games, but it's interesting that these were the games Intel chose to show numbers for.

With the 7800X3D basically sold out everywhere here in the states, and the ones that arent, have their prices ridiculously inflated, what AMD CPU would you recommend? Im building a PC with a 4080 S and I don't know if going with the R9 7900X3D or 7950X3D would be just as good

Don’t go with either wait for the 9800x3d. If you don’t want to wait the 7950x3d. The 7900x3d will cut its cores in half and you would only have 6 cores while gaming.

The benchmark numbers presented by AMD regarding the 8 and 15 core versions of the new X3D processors actually still show a better performance for the 8 core version. Now this was AMD bench mark numbers, and the last time they published those when the 9000 series were about to launch they were lying blatantly claiming incredible performance increase and totally spanking the Intel i9-14900K. This was quickly shown to be nothing but lies and the total performance increase, compared to the 7000 series, was more like 3% even though AMD want to claim it is 5%.. So AMD numbers. Think what you want about that. But do notice that they say the 8 core CPU is faster in games than their own more expensive16 core CPU. They might just be honest this time.

Intel Arrow Lake Q&A session we attended, where Intel VP of technical marketing, Robert Hallock was quizzed about the new CPUs’ gaming performance. Make no mistake, the new Core Ultra 9 285K will not be the best gaming CPU, even according to Intel. When asked about the new chips’ performance in comparison to AMD’s forthcoming Ryzen 9000X3D chips, Hallock, who used to work for AMD, admitted that “I think we’ll be about 5% back compared to [new] X3D parts, clarifying that “you’ll see about a 5% deficit, and I want to be clear about that.”

I always think Intel is better at maintaining their CPUs temps while amd performs better but gets hot fast, but I hear all these flaws fmof Intel's CPUs and wonder what company is actually better. I have watched the Intel vs amd video from the playlist but still struggle to conclude what is the better one maybe none of them are. I am not going to think about it a lot as I have been only learning about PCs and currently have the money to buy them 👍 I don't think this comment has any purpose I am just writing my thoughts, random ones

Absolutely false in every way. I like both and I definately prefer intel at the moment since their cpus can handle gaming and productivity with high performance. With AMD its too confusing and you have different cpus for either gaming or productivity. X3d chips are great but their lower clock speeds make them less future proof
