Amazing videos as always Ryan! One more thing to add, I think the opportunities in JC in terms of leadership and CCA are also very vast. Similar, to secondary school, but more! There are various student councils you can join (student council, CIP, CCA, Green Council [based on Hwa Chong, not sure about other JCs), and the selection of CCAs is also much wider. Our 2024 JC2 batch also has a lot of students with double CCAs. So if you are into leadership or new experiences, or want something fun to commit to other than academics, JC surely is the right choice for you!

Hi Ryan! Just got back my results a few days ago. Can you share more abt your experience taking CSC in hci (like how usual lessons run + immersion)? It seems quite difficult cuz ur Chinese needs to be insanely gd. I took a look at one of the sample A lvl papers and almost got a shock.

oh ya sure i can help address some of ur queries so firstly csc it's kinda complicated because we are basically learning abt 社会，经济，外交，政治 of china (4 aspects social economic political and social) and they all split into sub categories. The lesson structure is not very organised imo but it's v crucial to listen in class + not sleep esp if u are like me who barely knows anything the lessons will help u build the foundation. I think most important thing is that u must be relatively proficient in chinese aka Chinese a1 and have a strong interest in chinese, tbh my chinese q cmi and I struggle with reading but I'm working on it and hopefully by As I'll clutch up! Exam format wise, how it's tested is basically english compre (案例分析, case study) and essay (问答题）and basically requires u to have depth and breadth in ur thinking, ohya don't join for immersion it's a rlly big perk but it's only a bonus and shouldn't be the main focus, btw if u r curious abt immersion u can watch my china video! atb and hope u make a decision that will best suit u!

ohh abt that, honestly i don't think it's anything super big to worry about, definitely there will be established cliques n friend groups with ip ppl alr la aft all they have known each other prior already but as long as u r put yourself out there and be yourself i'm sure ull find ur people!
