In this video, our world-travelling family heads from Bali to the island of Nusa Penida. We saw beautiful locations like Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach and Crystal Bay. We also stayed in our worst accommodations yet.
I don't think we would recommend Nusa Penida to families. The roads are terrible, so all the kids got motion sickness when going to the different beaches. There is no sidewalk, so walking is risky - We did it, but we were very nervous every time.
We didn't find the restaurants to be that great, and they didn't have many options.
The fast boats are such a pain with kids and luggage. On the Sanur side, it isn't that bad. They have shaded areas to sit and wait, but it is really busy.
On the Penida side, it's just mayhem. Very slow moving, no shade, and one road in and out. Give yourself lots of time to get to your boat, and leave on the earliest boat in the morning to avoid huge crowds.
I would say that a one-night stay is all you really need to see the most beautiful locations on the island.
Where we stayed - Waterside Inn (wouldn't recommend) www.booking.com/hotel/id/wate...
The tour company we used (highly recommend) - Krishna Bali Tours - / dewakrishna81
