Thank you for making this video, as a 14 year old girl wanting to do midwifery when i go into college and uni, this really drills it into my head that its going to be hard, its going to be a lot of work but in the end it will be something amazing. For my options (year 9) i have picked health and social care and child development and care. They will obviously really help me go into a nursing course in college and then a midwifery course in university. Have you got any tips for doing my GCSE's for health and social care and child development and car? It would really help me. Thanks x

I don't have much to say other than good luck in your studies. It's lovely to see somebody with a passion for midwifery at such a young age, I'm sure with everything you will read and all the knowledge you will gain from now until the point of application, you will make a fabulous student midwife (to-be midwife) one day! :) x
@eloisemagill2309 Жыл бұрын
@@nicst2931hey I’m in a similar position, I’m 14 years old have already picked my GCSE’S unfortunately at the time I picked them I had not yet thought about becoming a midwife and therefore didn’t choose health and social care or anything in child development for a GCSE option I am also not able to do triple science. I was wondering if you know if I will still be able to do midwifery without theses GCSE’S?
@valkyrins Жыл бұрын
@@eloisemagill2309 hii im in year 11 and doing child development at gcse but you really dont need to worry ab them! as long as you have around a 4 or 5 in english, maths and science at gcse itll be fine. at alevel its best to take biology and any other subjects you like, but taking a btec for health&social care will be really good for preparing you. most midwifery courses just need a 4 or 5 in your cores at gcse and ABB at alevel xx

When you do placements you may not all be at the same hospital, but you should get told what hospital you are assigned to. So just check with your friends, what hospital they have been signed too. Good luck and wish you all the best at uni.

@NadineNayy2 жыл бұрын
Hey, if you have a child they can be flexible but not all placement areas are. You have to complete your hours to pass the course so they can’t be flexible with your hours. If you have child care issues and can’t make it in, you’ll still have to make up those hours. I would suggest trying to find someone to help you with child care or something in place to help you x
