My dad passed down an 08 R/T to me that I had for a few years before it got totaled in an accident caused by a kid who was texting. My father and I both took excellent care of the car and it paid us for our efforts, we never, ever had an issue with the car. It was so fucking reliable. Even after 10 years of age it never made any annoying sounds. No squeaks, no rattles, nothing. It's gone from Toronto to Florida many times. It had about 230K KMs on it at the time of the accident, it got there with regular servicing, oil changes, etc. Take care of your cars people, and they will take care of you.

Everything this guy says is BULLCRAP. I've owned my '06 Srt8 for several years, and not experienced anything other than the stereo blacking out and replacing the left control arm. And yes, I drive it hard. Always have. If these engines "blew up" on people all the time, don't you think you'd have heard about it by more people than just him?? You think Chargers would still be selling today with almost the same identical engine? It's a load of crap by a guy who wants shock value to promote his videos. Don't listen to him. I've driven my Srt8 from Washington to California Bay area back and forth twice at joy-riding speeds, with no issues whatsoever. Were the most incredible, supercar performance trips, and absolutely the most fun I've ever had driving in my life!! Stop thinking you have to have the latest, fastest car on the road to have fun. That's just EGO-REASONING. For the feel, sounds, and sights that this car brings, .....it is AMAZING. I replaced the exhaust, including upgrading CAI, throttle body and spacer, added the Pedal Commander throttle response controller, and that's it, and this car pulls hard and sounds so amazing that you want to drive it with the windows down in 40 degree weather. Don't deny yourself an incredible driving experience on a budget because of this silly post from a guy too cheap to make regular maintenance repairs. Peace!!

289k miles on mine no issues with transmission nor motor, at most I replaced the suspension for an after market one and the biggest thing I had to fix was a timing belt that was shot when I first bought it. It’s a modern car to many variables, so like any other modern car you have to take care of it. Recently got a 100k mile one for my sister, that i got off of some one that took poor care of it and had to replace a few things but even then it’s been kicking with no issues after that. You might have gotten one with crap quality control, those always pop up here and there

I own a 2007 Chrysler srt8 I purchased march 2015 with 96,000 miles when I bought. It currently has 151,000 miles on it now and the only think I had to replace was the radiator last year and brakes. It's been pretty good other than that. I did buy a Diablo tuner and run a tune and I always use the recommended mobile one full synthetic oil. I'm not taking any chances. So far this has been my favorite car. Sorry you had so many issues with yours. I remember watching some of your earlier videos. I have gotten my car to launch from 0-60 at 4.2 seconds. I've owned my 2007 srt8 for 4 years now.. I've beaten the hell out of it and have NEVER had any serious issues, few minor issues. Few of the issues were loose bearings, bad thermostat, and struts always giving out. AFTER I upgraded struts never had the issue again. It did heat up a little too much during the texas summer when drag racing or street racing but that was early fixed with a engine oil cooler. Again, I've had no issues with the car, but have upgraded small things here and there. Transmission is strong as ever, motor runs like Usain bolt! I've heard alot of bad stories about this car but I've not had any. Of course it was a one owner too and was owned by a lady who was in real estate.

@nyquil34653 жыл бұрын
@Raul Aguilar These factory radiator fans go out a lot and run at very low RPMs, it’s gonna be hard to find anything performance cooling wise for these cars. I would recommend getting a aftermarket thermostat that opens up at a way lower temperature than the factory ones in these cars. And I would 100% recommend getting a new radiator fan assembly as that’s the most overheating problems. My cars water pump is fine and also the radiator itself.

My '15 challenger srt392 was a car i wanted since my neighbor took me for a spin in his 1970 Challenger 340 T/A, in 1970 and being a cop he wasn't worried about a ticket so we went on this highway that goes straight from the south shore of LI NY to the north shore. I remember him nailing that thing and that was it... Finally got one in '15 and from the second week of ownership it had already began to fall apart. The short version is 22 service calls in 24 months, ACC sensors every month, trans, radiator, fans, brakes, computer, and 2 rear ends and the grand finale... The #5 piston blew the motor. I still have no idea why they wouldn't fix the damn car. Lemon lawed it and shoved it up Dodges ass, then got back my deposit for my hellcat as well, and took my check after paying the lawyer ordered my '17 Camaro ZL1 with every available option and this thing is nuts. Did some bolton upgrades so now its up from 650hp to just a hair under 740. Not one problem here guys, not a one, after the crap Dodge pulled on me the instant it went over 36000 miles i bought an extended warrantee to 60k miles and havent had a problem small or largs and the extra 80+hp this thng still scares me when i hit the floor with the go pedal, low 3's to 60, a hair over 7 to 100 and 17 seconds to 150mph. Theres a racecar wale when the exhaust opens up at 4000rpm till the 6500 redline. It takes hellcats out and the best part of this scenario is the ZL1 works!! I don't get into it like the srt wondering which malfunction lights will be on, most of the time all 3 were lit. Just wanted to share what happened to me and my dream car that in a 2 year period turned into a nightmare.. Till then i was MOPAR or no car but that experience ruined it for me. Good luck everyone and drive safe.

Love my 07 srt8. Ive taken care of it. Has 123k now (got it with 70k). The only issue ive had was the transmission module ECM bc the car would get stuck on 1st gear and wouldnt shift. But thats it so far. No temp issues etc. Also had a 2010 challenger SE 3.5, awesome car, no major issues. Ive had good experiences with mopar.

@Nekroman1114 жыл бұрын
@@WTGGOON167 how much brotha? Id say...feel the suspension, thats the only "major' thing i had to fix on mine. Other that the car not shifting out of 1st (tcm) but that was fixed by the dealer car lot. One weakness on these is the auto shift. When u test drive drive it un "manual" mode. A lot of the times the plastic piece breaks off....not big deal at all...but good price drop lol. Over all these cars are tanks!!!! I got mine w 70k miles and is close to 126k now...no isuess at all!!!. Those are the things id look out for. Find a speed bump, and hear any rattles (radio off) if so...you prob need new bushings etc. Keep me posted!! I love love love my srt8. In my humble opinion...very reliable

Maybe the previous owner abused it? Only reoccurring issues I've heard of with SRT8's are suspension-related and some infotainment glitches with the screen motors.

I Beat my chargers no matter what. But I have a 07 08 years srt 7930 miles rt 96xxx. Never had a problem with my RT other than suspension the front suspension is straight shit. And I had to replace a valve body for my transmission which set me back $1,000 but at 95,000 miles. Beating that thing like a dead horse and being 10 years old in made sense. And I have a 426 SRT. I don't know always changed oil 1000 miles before recommend. Tune ups etc. Nothing yet knock on wood. Could be mileage. Nothing lasts forever and mileage and years have a lot to do with the car especially if it's not maintained properly. I don't know I don't have a high mileage SRT8 so I wouldn't know when it would break. And my whole cars completely finished like everything's rated for 1000 horsepower. But I'll let you know when it does. Going to Pro charge it next year. I'll let you know 10 to 20 years. Best of luck to you but for the money however long you had that SRT8 for $15,000 I'm sure you had the time of your life. It made you make videos. To cherish the memories. Not many cars will leave an impression as a Mopar. I've driven Ford Mustangs Camaros Corvettes. And let me tell you there a little more expensive than a charger or a Challenger for the power. And they're less comfortable unless you're talking about a Corvette now that's fast. But just GM and tears of that era. Are just terrible and the storage spaces our little to none but I suppose you wouldn't do that for a Corvette have it to carry storage

Heres a thing I own a 2006 Charger 3.5L V6, yes it will not have the same problems as a V8 of that model year but it is treating me very well it has 400K on it and I am just starting to have miner problems with it. If your wanting to buy one from 2006 - 2010 I recommend getting a V6 because the V8’s are just gone by now, people will beat the crap out of them. But at the end pf the day it is a Dodge and it depends on how you drive it that’s just the reality.

I have an 06 charger. High mileage. Fixed issues some doofus didn't want to and traded it in...runnin fine. Takin care of the engine and everything. Lemme guess, ya did alot of burnouts and hit the gas hard more times than ya should. I haven't even smoke off the tires. I love my car and will continue to upgrade and make it back to brand new. Yes i am an idiot for buying older cars but that's my taste. I put money into em and expect no resale after. Thanks for the heads up on issues tho. Overheating got me too...fixed...shuttin the car off got me too....fixed...just gives me a chance to build it back up better than when they shipped em out. Lol 👍🏽🤘🏽✌🏽

THE SUSPENSION IS REALLY ALL YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WITH THESE CARS. I HAD REBUILD THE FRONT SUSPENSION NEW STRUTS AND STRUT MOUNTS AND NEW SPRINGS WHICH WAS PRETTY EXPENSIVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS BUT TODAY IT RIDES LIKE A BRAND NEW CAR

Dude you did a video like this already, You dogged the crap out of your car like seriously you did. Any car you beat on is going to give you issues. No motor is bulletproof from being ragged on.

Never had a SRT Charger but I do have a 2012 Ram with a 5.7 Hemi. Its been to the dealer at least 5 times. 3 times were recall issues the last time the CV boot on the passenger side front tore open and was throwing grease everywhere. Did I mention this truck only has 52K miles. It ain't a charger thing its Dodge/Chrysler thing. I'd love to buy a Hellcat or Demon but hell if the regular naturally aspirated cars have these many problems why spend that kinda coin to get a more expensive lemon.
@504daniel75 жыл бұрын
never had any problems with my demon so far, besides the plastic on the hood its a common problem dodge needs to recall but the heat from the engine is causing demons plastic vent insert to warp slightly and is slightly CHIPPING PAINT around the edges and it looks bad i think its because of how long the plastic insert is, had a hellcat for 2 years before no problem only had a radiator recall

Guy spends most of his time in car doing God knows how many extended burnouts, hard launches, highway runs, and general hoonery..then car has problems.. I'm shocked 😂 That, folks, is why you never buy a used performance car from a younger person. I'm Not downing young ppl (I was young too) but look at the logic indicative of his age: "if a car has 400 horsepower hemi, it better let me BEAT THE HELL OUT OF IT". Let that sink in. Doing all the scheduled maintenance in the world doesn't matter if you dog the s*** out of your car (performance model or not) NON-STOP. 'nuff said

I have the "worst" dodge charger they sell and I treat it well with regular maintenance but sometimes pull a burnout when it's nice and wet out and no problems. Well my wiring harness went out but that was from an unrelated issue. So if you beat the living shit out of it like this guy and expect it to be a reliable car well sorry to say it but you wont get the expected results.

Only 105k miles? Man my 2004 Tahoe LT (owned since 05) is at 298k and it runs like new. Sure, it isn't Mopar or a Muscle Car but my point is, even if you play rough with a vehicle (I don't go nuts in a Tahoe cause why would I?) as long as one makes sure they change oil frequently and keep fluids up, brakes and wheels in tip top shape, and make sure you don't purposely kill the engine or transmission any vehicle can last you forever.

My cars ecu caused malfunction at 32k miles, mirror lights, trunk light and lighter jack stopped working. transmission had a knock at 32k miles (fixed under warranty). Transmission blew at 62k miles and axle bearings at 64k miles.. paid $2400 out of pocket because it was out of warranty.

I owned one of these Charger SRT8s for a short period of time and had constant issues with the throttle response. It would never start and left me stranded multiple times. As cool as I thought the car was after many dealer visits where they would run up the tab and not fix the issues I quickly cut my losses and moved on. I'd also recommend you stay away from this body style.

I recently bought a 2013 Audi A5. It’s stage 2+ at the moment so it’s way faster than stock, easy 0-60 at around 4.5 seconds. Now I’m thinking that the engine is honestly not strong enough to handle this tune up since it’s just a 4 cylinder. Sooo my question is, should I turn to a pre 2013 Audi S5 or a Dodge Charger or challenger SRT8??? Audi S5 models pre 2013 have 4.2L V8 engines. Really need advice
